I think its worse for the Bears, they've been totally screwed over by the NRL. The only hope they had of attracting players was offering overs and they cant even do that with PNG in the frame. They get no exemptions and leg ups unlike PNG.

18 months of development for Latu or even Andrews and we should be fine. The key is keeping the rest of the squad together. I can't see the Fainus leaving given Sione is signed long term and will want to be close to Manese when he gets out. The real danger is the Mays, especially with Willie...

Now that Jarome is gone the club need to move quickly to lock down both Mays, both Fainus, Makasini, Bula, Pole and Turuva ASAP. With 1.2mil in the cap cleared for 2028, it should be achievable. Provided they can lock all of them down, Luai leaving will become a blessing in disguise.

We need to lock down our forward pack. Our forwards have been incredible to start the season, particularly defensively. Tackle efficiency isn’t everything but to start the year: Terrell May - 98% Api Koroisau - 91% Fonua Pole - 92% Samuela Fainu - 94% KPP - 94% Twal - 97% Royce Hunt - 95%...

No, they're signed to top 30 deals next year. I had them as the replacements for those on the release list.

I think its crucial we are sensible this season and don't go out and sign any non-cheap externals considering we have all these guys coming off contract Nov 1, requiring upgrades: Bula, Turuva, Taylan May, Terrell May, Makasini, Latu Fainu, Samuela Fainu, Fonua Pole, Hunt and Madden. We need...

Based on our off contract players for this year, this is what I think we should be looking to do with each player and who should/could replace them (keeping in mind Roberts, Andrews and Haywood all move to top 30 next year): Retain: Bula - Retain (re-sign or activate club option) Tony Sukkar -...

Probably not. Both the Roosters and Dolphins will have much better chances and will throw big money and third parties at him. Our long term centres are May and Makasini (after a year or two on the wing). Better to focus on locking those two down and keeping them happy. I don't think its really...

No. Absolutely re-sign as a depth player. There are two more teams coming into the comp in the next two years, which means 60 more NRL player roles. For example we have Will Craig, Saukuru and Ethan Roberts in our NRL squad who have never played an NRL game and probably never will. Every single...

Assume the fullback/Shifschoke meeting was around Papenhuyzen? Based on his comments on his podcast recently, he seems to be leaning more and more towards coming back to League. Has history with injury but he would suit the style of play Benji has implemented. He would be my preferred option...

Skelton also had a blinder against the Cowboys and is one of the best in the league coming out of his own end. Skelton is on 275k. If we can extend him for another year on the same amount or very similar, hes definitely worth keeping around. With Luke going, having Skelton, Herbert and Tavana...

This is a very very short sighted view and I don't think you really understand how negotiation, cap and squad management works. Its important to get the lower end of the roster sorted early. In the case of Tavana, it was a very smart move locking up Tino now. He has only played 2 games and is...

Development Deal for 2027 Top 30 Deal for 2028 and 2029

Poor old Isaac is having a really tough time at moment isn’t he. O’Brien recently sacked, Seibold sacked and Flanno on the verge on being sacked. Running out of suitors and leverage for Bula now that Tracey has re-signed and Drinkwater is Dragons bound. Looks like a number of clubs are getting...

Flanno is full of it. Last week he gave some excuse for his team selections by saying that he hasn’t got anyone else underneath to play. While he keeps selecting the same players that are 0-6 for the season, their reserve grade side is currently equal first and have a record of 4-1. The young...

Perfect replacement for Kit

I don’t think it’s about who’s better, more about the combination of Terrell with Pole and Sione with Royce. Terrell and Pole usually play the first 25mins then are both a switched for Royce and Sione. Royce and Pole are too similar to be on at the same time and also the least reliable middle...

Don't know what thread to post this in, and this isn't a knock on Alex but bringing KPP into that right back rower spot might be one of the most underrated singular upgrades this club has ever seen. Turned that game and our right edge around. Kudos to KPP. Won't get the wraps that Jock will...

One game back, willing to give it another week or 2.

Its ironic isn't it, Moses advised Galvin to leave for his 'development' but will also advise Bula to go to the Dragons. No idea how any player can think that guy has their best interest at heart.
