‘It’s the truth’: compelling new WT doco

If you want to give fans genuine insight into an NRL club why not pick a decent one. We're the rugby league equivalent of fairy floss. We look good and after a few seconds we are mush, a few seconds more and we are gone altogether.

Hanging in there for 2021, there is still a lot of footy to be played, but only just.

Pascoe sums it up by basically saying "it's amazing people care about the club so much when we suck."

Who wants to watch a doco on the storm or the rorters - most fans hate those clubs. Plus we know how it ends - so ho hum we made the finals again for the umpteenth time. The only interest in those 2 teams would be the interviews with the rorters accountant and the storm's wrestling coach. At least with the tigers it will be a real warts and all look at an NRL club that knows what its like to struggle.

I agree, Aussies love an underdog and it might endear us to more supporters. We're already a popular club based on viewing/membership metrics and this could well increase it. People who don't have a club might just fall in behind us and become fans. Aren't we everyone's 'second club' already?

If nothing else, it puts us in the public eye and gives the diehards something to watch. I'd much rather this - on any club - than the typical drivel we get from Matty Johns, Gus, Gal and co.

I like that the club is willing to take a few risks to break new ground.

A day in the life of Justin Pascoe. Can't wait. Any chance we can get to assembling a rugby league team soon? Is it on the agenda?

Looks like he's contemplating it.

As one of the biggest supporter bases in Sydney it is well targetted for ratings football wise.A good initiative by our club to help our club become even larger in the key Sydney market.
I can only see positives from this

I’m pumped for episode 4
“Dancing with the stars”

“Why can’t we tackle”

😂

How can anyone possibly be complaining about increased access to the inner-workings of the club, in any format? The off-season doco we produced a few years back under Cleary was very good, if comparatively short, and this can only be of high interest and information to league fans in general.

I've watched the Tottenham series; there are several others on NFL and Premier League teams, all make for compelling viewing when you actually get to see what footballers and club officials really go through day-to-day.

Anyone on here making snide comments - there are several of you - pull your heads in. You ask for more transparency, more innovation, more access; club goes ahead and takes this novel step amongst all league clubs, and all you can come up with is mockery. You must really wonder how much of a compulsive cynic you are.

I wonder if it also keeps News Ltd off our backs for a while, given that Steve Crawley's equally slimy brother didn't mind heaping on us last year and I haven't heard from him in 2021.

Yes it's a smart move. The greater the local supporter base the more likely we are to survive if there's talk of teams being cut.

Would be great to see how a club works, the whole package, as a supporter I am really looking forward to it, know matter what the results have been lately.

Well I guess they could just do nothing...

I think they're doing a wonderful job of doing nothing. Nothing in regards to football success anyway. Surely there's more pressing issues than this stuff.

Cant wait for this, recently watched the Amazon Prime series on the AFL last season which was quite interesting. Even if you don't like AFL it gave a great insight into the coaching style of each of the clubs it followed and some of the captains and even at Management level of the Tigers. Hopefully this does the same thing.

So recruiting blokes like Laurie, Utoikamanu, Simpkin, Blore, Simpkins, Tuilagi ..attempting to re-balance the playing roster moving on Reynolds, Mbye.. not paying overs to keep Aloiai getting Ofahengaue with Donkey's contributing to his salary etc is doing nothing to improve on field success ..OK..

Excellent idea.

Will be far more detailed than anything ever done before in league.

Sounds like an Aussie version of 'Sunderland til I Die' for any football fans out there. Highly recommend it on Netflix for all sports fans. They're a similar story to us. Large club, big and passionate fan base but very limited success over the years and much disappointment

Yeah, we've seen a huge improvement on field.

Fans love this stuff, but i remember 'being liverpool' and brodge wasnt a fan, and klopp has stated he would leave the club if they tried to film another similar one.
not that we are in a similar position at all liverpool, but i dont know how this helps the club other than financially
