How can anyone possibly be complaining about increased access to the inner-workings of the club, in any format? The off-season doco we produced a few years back under Cleary was very good, if comparatively short, and this can only be of high interest and information to league fans in general.

I've watched the Tottenham series; there are several others on NFL and Premier League teams, all make for compelling viewing when you actually get to see what footballers and club officials really go through day-to-day.

Anyone on here making snide comments - there are several of you - pull your heads in. You ask for more transparency, more innovation, more access; club goes ahead and takes this novel step amongst all league clubs, and all you can come up with is mockery. You must really wonder how much of a compulsive cynic you are.

I wonder if it also keeps News Ltd off our backs for a while, given that Steve Crawley's equally slimy brother didn't mind heaping on us last year and I haven't heard from him in 2021.

Some fans don't really care about this off-field stuff any more, and wonder when our near on decade finals-less sojourn might end.

Exactly mate ..
I don’t care what happens at training and behind closed doors ..
We’ve been forced fed enough fluff to make an industrial vacuum cleaner choke to death ..

It’s the 80 mins on the playing field that counts !

Foxtel you very naughty boy for doing this....
You know you need to leave anything positive about the club to SMH and ABC and the like
the forum will implode if foxtel give us some positive media

This actually could be a massive lift for the club and brand..
We have not made the finals for like 10 years and if we were to pull this off and make the finals it would be a documentary that goes world wide (underdogs). Imagine how our fans are going to be if we made it and how the crowds would be massive.. Not getting my hopes up but this really could be magical.

Maybe this has been the plan all along? I mean, stack us up against the League heavyweights only to suffer humiliation along with some gritty fightbacks. Then crash bang wallop we win the next 20 games in a row! ... and then I woke up.

I think they're doing a wonderful job of doing nothing. Nothing in regards to football success anyway. Surely there's more pressing issues than this stuff.

So recruiting blokes like Laurie, Utoikamanu, Simpkin, Blore, Simpkins, Tuilagi ..attempting to re-balance the playing roster moving on Reynolds, Mbye.. not paying overs to keep Aloiai getting Ofahengaue with Donkey's contributing to his salary etc is doing nothing to improve on field success ..OK..

Yeah, we've seen a huge improvement on field.

That wasn't the your statement..the above is doing something ..

He's lucky he has a fan base with no expectations of success.

Doubt that's true of any fan base..all have expectations..

Massive props to the WT for doing this. This is the future of promoting the game and introducing new fans.
NRL clubs are notorious for being stuck in the past so hopefully this gets more onboard.
Huge missed opportunity in not filming anything for last years COVID season and even imagine following the Roosters going for their threepeat.
I'm a massive fan of the All or Nothing TV series so hopefully FOX sports can do something similar and not have too many cringe Matt Nable intros..

I’d say a re-run of MAFS would rate higher ?
But I’d say if the club sucks in just 2 more memberships from this latest initiative it’ll be high 5’s all around for management ?

P.S I’ll watch if it’s narrated by Sir David Attenborough !

Yeah I know, people are sick of fluff pieces and I have to admit that I get fed up with the same sort of crap all the time, but I honestly believe that this is going to be great for us.

Not saying that I am likely to love it all or lap it all up, but this is surely going to be a great piece of advertising and PR for this club as long as the product is of a reasonable quality.

Geo mentioned MAFS a few posts back and I personally would not watch it in a pink fit but you have to look at how popular reality TV has been in recent years and the potential this has to bring in new supporters and potential sponsors off the back of it.

Is this the club admitting that it is little more that a sideshow to the NRL? I'd be much more impressed by making the top four.

Pretty much.

We saw the "Unleash Brooks" headlines and how they are quickly turned into viral memes which further push the club as a joke.

Fans of other teams will be picking this apart and finding snippets to further push the" joke club" tag Wests have.

Minimize damage, bunker down, win games. If the large supporter base was here for the last decade of trash a mini docu series aint gunna change that. Theyll still be here. All this will do is give everyone else plenty of ammo to further kick the club.

Perhaps Fox also realize the power of brand 'West Tigers"..Could have picked any other club but they chose us. I am sure there would have been some thinking behind it..

When you watch how we played on Monday and then comment that we 'played ok'. Well ,I think that person is happy with us just turning up each week because last monday was garbage.
Back to back polls a few years ago where a majority voted that missing the 8 was a successful year.
You know i could go on....

I get that things are headed the right way, and that's good. The QE2 doesn't turn on a dime.

But at the end of the day we have spent a long time, and what would be considered an eternity in the modern NRL era, in the wilderness and as a result the puff pieces and off field media begins to wear thin.

I guess all I am trying to say is that I don't think you can't blame fans for not being enthused about it. I have been a Wests/Balmain fan since 1989, and I have seen my team play in the finals 4 times since 1989, and I would say I was too young to remember 1990, so three times committed to memory. Magpies fans of my vintage (born in the mid 80's,) would have only seen their club play finals five times.

It's been a long time between drinks and we just want to see the results where they matter most.

Not sure this is a good idea. WT are already a laughing stock.

Making out we’re a very professional club and opening doors are only a good idea when you’re successful.
