‘It’s the truth’: compelling new WT doco

After seeing the quality of the assistants ..most downvoted me for wanting Bomber Morris he would not be good enough 😂

You deserve 2k upvotes man.
The assistants are a joke.

After seeing Griffiths on his phone in every shot, I hope there's a review of these guys.

Poor Dwyer looks bored and lost.

It’s pretty obvious what Harry Grant meant when he mentioned the difference between the two coaches.
Madge is very clearly invested in the club and the playing group and you can’t fault his energy but just in that first hour I saw a coach that seems more intent with being a father figure and ‘nurturing his players into first graders instead of champions’ I know some of the players look disinterested’ but I just don’t see the presence and equally the respect.
He clearly needs some help with his assistants but he seems too buddy buddy for a professional team but with our blasé CEO the way this season has played out is not surprising me.

Maybe your right but I’ll wait until I watch the whole series before I make judgement. I think from some of the trailers you also see him give it to the players so I think he’s just picking his mark for the situation perhaps

Agree with the general consensus regarding Pascoe.

Used car salesman vibes. Very sleazy. Would prefer he’d be selling the match day programs than the club ethos.

What are we seeking choir boys or results? Pascoe gets results, Maguire doesn't. That is the bottom line.

List Pascoe's results for us please.

I think if you were truely invested in the club you would know that ! Just one the Tigers are probably one of the only clubs in the Sydney basin which is self sufficient that in itself is an achievement in these financial times .

Did Pascoe sell you a used car Paws?

Dinosaur mentality

The most worrying thing I saw was how Madge was constantly relaying messages to tell the team to push up in defence, push up in attack to support , etc.
All basic things I don't understand why this needs to be constantly drummed into them.
Seems to me we need a strong , vocal leader in our forward pack.

Come off it with that crap mate, we support a footy team not a financial institution, we are probably only doing the stupid doco to make a quick buck.

Can you explain more? how are Wests self sufficient? I genuinely don't know.

How is it different to every other Sydney team? What is Pascoe doing that is making Wests such a money making machine?

Everything Madge was saying during the game , I think everyone on here says every single game !!! including 'stop the game' 🙂

SOmething that confimed what we all say/think during the game , who is tlaking out ehre during the game, in last nights episode it showed there is very little talk out there . I agree we need that vocal leader , Tamou isnt it!!

I doubt we'll see too much tactics unless it's the vanilla stuff. Hence why it seems there are a lot of just motivational speeches.

Madge is the right guy and JP has to go.

It just goes to show what we all know that the playing group is mentally fragile.. no amount of coaching can in-still that into individuals..

No matter how talented or skilful… Mentality comes from within.. no words can unlock it.. you can become resilient but only do it yourself.

It’s a generational thing IMO.. everyone gets a ribbon..

Gen X ..toughest

Back in the late 90's a mate of mine trained a horse that was near enough favourite for the Melbourne Cup and the ABC ran a multi-part series following his preparation over a couple of months.

In the end the horse ran mid-field. He always regretted putting himself in the position where effectively he increased the pressure on himself and the stable.

I doubt the club would have allowed game tactics/strategy to be shown in its full on the doco, whether they're effective or not - it would be a poor decision to let opposition teams know that stuff.

Yea me too . But they are paying overs galore man . TPJ is like 150k more than we offered .

Where did you get this information? There has been no indication anywhere that we offered more for TPJ. There is also no indication JAC signed for more than what we offered him.

I’m not saying that isn’t true … Because it clearly is , but if it’s a generational thing , why is it only affecting Places like the tigers . The storm , they don’t recruit the best players all the time , like Nico Hynes is a prime example of this . He just wanted it more . Do we search for the exceptions not the rule ? If a whole generation are fragile , how do you find resilience ? Do we just recruit a little lower on the natural talent but A plus on the mental aptitude ?

This has to be What Adam Hartigan, Kimmorley , Tim Sheens and Madge would be having conversations about .
For me , I’d look to America . Thier aptitude testing is another level . And the prima Donna egos floating around the NRL , are nothing compared to an NFL locker room . “The Patriots way” has to be something that’s looked into , as they do exactly what the storm do . Identify talented players , but ones with a real hard edge .
How they do that , I have NO idea . But if we could tap into that knowledge stream , even just a little bit , it would go a long way to get us out this mess I reckon .

The trouble is they have become commodities with clubs shuffling them around like deck chairs. Their contract money is assured no matter how they play and if it doesn't work out at one club another one will pick them up. There is a special minority of players who want to win and naturally they navigate their way to teams who have players that share the same mentality and standards. Try as we do to be that club to attract those players there just doesn't seem enough to go around.
