What about Farah pushing Lidds through the 80. Seems like it’s been a plan to get Liddle to build towards 80 min games. It was mentioned a few times within the Penrith game.
They can clearly see he struggles with playing 80 and they kept pushing him to do it which cost us many times unfortunately.
The only way to get match fit is to play matches unfortunately. You can’t build to play 80 mins by splitting the hooker role. Same with any position in the forwards and we all saw how far above NSW cup level he was when he went back there, so there is no point playing him long minutes in that grade.
How long can you persist with it though? When it's been months and he's letting down the team something has to change. Some guys just can't play 80
I don’t agree he can’t ‘handle’ you build up an endurance and a tolerance to play 80 mins. The new rules would be making that process even tougher given both of our hookers have had interrupted recent seasons. I actually think Simpkin has move endurance at the moment and will probably go close to 80 this week. (If he starts) but I would def use this season to get ourselves a conditioned hooker. Both of the kids are far better than average skill wise the thing letting them down is being able to hang tough when they are off their feet. You don’t learn that if you get interchanged fresh all the time.
Agree, Look at Luciano, when he was at St George, people were wondering wether he could put in more in than 20 minutes.
