We have a 59% win record at Leichhardt and a 44% win record as a club.

While I wouldn't call it a fortress, it's a handy home ground advantage compared to how we generally perform. For comparison sake, look at our dismal record at Campbelltown - we have a losing record there despite it being one of home grounds.

If anything we should have more games at Leichhardt. I think ideally, 4 at Leichhardt (all Saturday or Sunday afternoons), 4 at Campbelltown, 1 in Tamworth or another regional centre, and 1 each at Bankwest, ANZ and the SFS.

Yet year after year various stadiums average higher than the suburbans. The prople have spoken.

My point being that I don't think the people have spoken on Bankwest - it barely shaded Leichhardt this year and if you take out the 1 match against Parra (our home game, not the Easter one), which is obviously their own ground so well supported, Bankwest comfortably falls under Leichhardt in 2019. That is why I was being silly about Suncorp.

Ultimately I think we do need to choose 1 ground but I'd choose ANZ, or at least see what the new SFS looks like. Bankwest is stop-gap only and definitely Parramatta's home ground. Slippery old surface (like an Eel), forced walk down Church St... big fan of the architecture of the stadium but not its location.

Upgrade for Leichhardt and other suburban grounds would be awesome. Rugby League was born in Sydney and is tribal by nature. Strengthening suburban grounds thus promoting Sydney suburban teams is a good move. It shows respect for the history of the game and is aimed at respecting the fans rather than the corporates.
There was also mention of his desire to strengthen country footy. Sounds promising and refreshing!

Take away LO 's biggest crowd this year and the ave there goes down to 11k. But I agree, Homebush and SFS need to be looked at aswell.

I love Leichhardt. There is no other ground like it. I flew in from the Gold Coast to go to the game as disappointing it was to lose, I think they tried hard just outclassed. I would love to do it again hopefully they continue to play a few games there each year.

@gallagher Yeah and look at the teams we play and the days we play there. When they played Souths at Bank West they drew 9000 crowd, at Leichhardt on a Thursday night against Cowboys we got 10,000, and that was as far out of the city as you can get.
