1. Tedesco 6. Moltzen 7. Brooks

austin reminds me a lot of anasta. can have an impact on the game but tends to fade in/out way too much.

you'll hardly ever see anasta make a mistake- same with austin.

You must have missed plenty of games this season!

errors such as kicking out on the full, not finding touch from penalties, missing easy tackles, arm grabbing etc.
dont think u'll see anasta make basic errors like that which marshall used to make.

Anasta was responsible for missing easy tackles and arm grabbing this year! He was also responsible for passing the ball straight into the ground on a couple of occasions!!! Add in some poor ball handling this year also and you have a man who based on 2013 form is unable to claim he is secure and doesn't make mistakes!
Anasta has a lot to prove this year! If he has another year like lthis year he will be looking at the same situation as benji was, going out of the game looking like a complete dud!

My only hope for Brooks is we don't stuff up his career like we did Marshall's by not giving him a proper halves partner. Benji's best seasons were when he had Prince and Lui alongside him. Every other season he struggled by trying to change his natural game. I'd hate to see Brooks struggle because he doesn't have the right support from his #6.

Next year I'd be starting Anasta at 6, with Austin moving in should Brooks find his feet well. Long term Moses will be his right hand man. They play damn well together as a halves combination and complement each other perfectly.

I totally agree Alex. Brooks & Moses complement each other perfectly & can read each others game. I know we have to be patient but I can't wait to see them playing along side each other in first grade.

You sure?
I saw plenty of all that from Anasta this year.

In fairness potter did screw anasta around putting him in second row with the whole Jacob miller mess.

How is that screwing him around? He is a seasoned campaigner with plenty of experience, he's not a rookie… He has played plenty of time in the halves and has also played plenty of time at second row.. Yes it may take a bit of time to gel with your backs in a new team, but that doesn't effect simply ball handling errors and defense errors...

yes, better option than Anasta certainly, possibly better than Austin. Probably his best position as well.

So why not play them there from the start.

It says why in the first post.

i must've missed a lot then. anasta never made basic errors such as that.
i do however remember him missing some tackles esp on the goal line but that was due to retreating defense.

I guess that would be one way to do it.

Replace a really streaky player of great talent but questionable composure and pretty weak defence ethic with a really streaky player or questionable talent , a worse kicking game and the same flaws.

But if he earns it why not

Because at Moses' current weight he makes Brett Hodgson look like George Burgess. Physically he's not ready

No doubt when Brooks becomes established he will need a running 6 by his side

For the next 12-18 months he will need someone that can take the burden off him when required as he will no doubt struggle with the week in week out intensity of the NRL

I imagine Brooks will float in and out of some games , the mental step up will be enormous in itself , let alone the physical step up

Anasta would be ideal if he could find the form from 4-5 years ago

Personally think sticking Moltzen beside Brooks would be madness , how many games has Moltzen played at 6 2-3 at most ??

Austin is still a rookie and sticking him beside Brooks won't help , actually Brooks might be more advanced than Austin despite Austin's more NRL experience

Our biggest problem in 2014 will be finding the right person for the 6 jersey

**Would it be that bad a thing to leave Sironen in the 6 jersey for one more season and have Anasta on the bench to help out if required ??**

Start the season with Braith at 5/8 and if he isn't playing well then I don't think he should be in 1st grade, he is just way too ineffectual as a 2nd rower and he doesn't seem to make a great lock either judging by this seasons efforts.
If Anasta doesn't cut it at 5/8 then leave Sirro there IMO, he would be more value to us there instead of in the forwards at this point in time.
If both those options fail then we just have to pray that Austin turns out to be better than expected.

For years we have yearned to have a decent halfback, now we have one but no bloody 5/8! Geez the Tiges are good at neglecting a couple of the most vital positions on the footy field :imp:

What for

1\. Tedesco 6\. Sironen 7\. Brooks 9\. Farah

With all the forwards we have Siro should not even be considered there for 2014!

Anasta is past it. Moltzen will take time to regain any confidence if he does at all. and is best off the bench if Potter so chooses, or backup for injuries in the back line.

We need a combination to start the year and barring injuries the same combination to finish it!
