I cant believe the pundits are all over St. George
Didnt they watch Monday night?
As a fan I must be blinded by my love for our team.
I dont get it.
They dont believe that we can repeat Monday nights performance.
They believe we are a one man team.
That we cant win without Benji.
Do you guys buy into this?

Marshall being ruled out is massive in the eyes of the betting public. The ones who actually watch him play each week for the last few weeks realise its not that enormous of a deal. And will jump on those odds.

Tell you at about 4.45 on Sunday AHX

One thing ,it puts more pressure on Farah and Anasta and gives the defence less concerns attack wise

If Marshall was playing we would be clear cut favourites ,they would probably assume we would outscore the Stains

Moltzen must be 5/8 against the Dragons this week. Reasons are

1\. He knows what the team is like and all the plays
2\. There are some plays where Farah kicks to Benji etc. Moltzen would be able to learn those pretty quick
3\. His running game.
4\. He can set up tries which we are going to need.

Basically our backs should line up like this on game day:

1\. James Tedesco
2\. Taqele Naiyavaro
3\. Chris Lawrence
4\. Blake Ayshford
5\. Joel Reddy
6\. Tim Moltzen
7\. Braith Anasta

Many forum members wanted Marshall dropped to state cup.
Looks like their dream has come true.

anyway i disagree with the experts - i think we've got their number. I believe we will prevail.

But i dont disagree with the forum members who wanted Marshall in state cup to freshen up. I too wanted to see Marshall in state cup. But only for a short time. Like one match. To get the point. To show him who's in charge here.

I guess we"ll find out at about the time Happy said this Sunday at the field of broken dreams.

They all must think we don't have the points in us without Marshall.
But how many points has marshall scored or set up this year?
Farah has high stats with try assists and Anasta has Marshall covered with the goal kicking duties.

As long as they defend as well as they did on monday I think the tiges will suffocate the dragons and surprise them with a more structured attack.

Without Benji we will be better off defensively and kicking in general play . Kicks for goal..not sure but at least even. The real question I have is will Robbie try and dominate attack and try and fill Benji's shoes (excuse the pun) or will he allow the likes of Anasta and Sirro to have more of a go themselves. If you think about it, for the past 8 years Benji has been the focal point of our attack and naturally our attack has become predictable. Just watch Benji or Robbie and it can be snuffed out..and this is what has happened. With 2 new attacking options that have never been tried it has to cause a lot of uncertainty in the minds of Saints players so IMO , once we have gained forward momentum and field position I would place some trust in Anasta & Sirro to run some of the attacking options.

We have scored 14 tries this year so far…
Farah has laid on 6 tries
Benji has laid on 3 tries and has scored 3 tries.
One of Farahs assists was one of Benji's tries.

So effectively these 2 have been responsible for 11/14 tries this year with Moltzen, Miller and Ayshford providing individual efforts for the remaining 3.

He will be missed but we have to get used to it. We still have Rob there, but it is time for someone else to step up and help get us across the stripe.

Our attack is our problem, St George don't have a great attack either but i suspect many believe their attack will find it easier to breach our defense than the other way around.

But Benji is gone and I think perhaps our attack will be less predictable and hopefully more dangerous.

As for those Benji try assist stats how many were against Parra/Penrith and how many against Newcastle/Manly/Melbourne? St George is closer to the latter group in terms of defensive organisation.

One less days turn around,no Benji, and a really big effort without a win, these will be big factors. I think the dragons deserve to be favorites just on our injury list alone.

I think their could be a let down, lets hope not and we a due for some luck from the officials, but if I was a punter my money would not be on the Tigers

the 2 points that i would like to make are:

1\. this has been made by a number of you I hope that Farah does not over plan his hand. As he tend to make mistakes then.

2.I hope we smash the dragons so that Benji realises he is not irreplaceable and when he does return the attacking plays are should through out the team

1 assist v Newie
1 try against Penrith
1 try assist v Penrith
1 try v Parramatta
1 try assist v Parramatta.
1 try v Melbourne

Not outstanding but far better than most other's stats and the only game he didnt record something was against Manly when no-one else did either. Not saying he is setting the world on fire because he plainly isnt but he is not a non contributor as a lot on here are suggesting.

If you can put your hard earned on them your a braver man than me. They are decent enough odds but are they a good bet?

This is a true case of a week being a long time in football. Last Monday we set ourselves a blueprint and found a way forward as a team under Potter. Now come sunday Marshall will be out. Thompson likewise and we have another Rookie in a key position. Keeping the momentum from Monday will be a big challenge now. However, if they truly buy into Potter's way, then that same attitude and intensity from Monday night will surface once more.

last monday night was all about attitude for mine.. they all wanted to be out there and all wanted to win.. they showed that on the field rather than only talk about it in their columns.

i cannot fault any one person in their attitude.. it was a team effort, playing for each other.

sure there were errors, penalties, defensive mistakes etc… but you could feel their heart was in the game.

I need to see more performances like last week till I put my money on them. Too many times we've turned up for a match against one of the best teams only to get done by a bunch of muppets the next week. And we're playing the biggest muppets in the game. I'm a bit worried TBH.
