New coach, plethora of junior talent, i see a lot similarites. The game re-invents itself, out with the old, in with the new, so while we have said goodbye to great longtime servants like Heigno, Gibbs, and to a lesser extent Ryan of late, i think we are on the cusp of introducing quite a few young guys who will be wearing the Wests Tigers jersey for the next decade. I hope so anyway

We always have had loads of talent coming thru though….I hear this year after year, potential and actuality are two different things...Im not trying to be neg its just the way it is....I think due to our pretty weak recruiting of the past

03 took 2 years to come to success… But i am feeling confident about the Mighty WT

This would have to be the most conflicted i've ever felt about our chances going into any season ever. Definitely shaping as one of the most interesting yrs for the WT's in recent memory. I don't know if its cos we're still so far out from round 1 or not but I feel we really could go either way by either returning with a vengeance into the top 4, or failing miserably and finsihing well out of the 8\. A lot of it will depend on how well we go at 1 and 7 and providing we don't suffer too many setbacks in the front-row. I'm really keen to see the NYC prop get a crack, he really looked the goods in the semi's

Then of course theres the coach. While i have confidence in him he's still an unknown. Though i'd wait till the end of 2014 to pass judgment on him as he'll be coaching Sheens side in 2013, not his

Getting back to the original point though, it would be great to see a few guys come into first grade next yr and make themselves household names in WT colours for many yrs to come

Heaps of talent coming through , but the problem with a lot of our talent they always either seem injury prone or lack the work ethic to make it consistantly at the top

Forwards wise the three I hope get some time in top grade are Fotuiaki,Vela (the forgotten man ) and Paasi

Backs Miller and Nofoaluma at this stage (the rest need more size in my opinion)

Do I think these blokes can make the difference this season ?? No, but in 2014 with a season behind them they might make their mark

Yes very true ink but this year we were NYC champions so that normally translate to some guaranteed stars from our 20's.

How many took the next step from the side who made the GF in 09? I know Dwyer was there, and i'll assume Woods as well, am i missing anybody? I'd say this side has a heap more talent then the 09 side. Even a guy like Kurtis Rowe i'm looking forward to seeing make the jump

for god sake wt fans those under twenty forwards are not ready for nrl yet they will be murdered ,thanks to our recruitment we have one prop forward of first grade standard woods stands alone thats it the rest will crumble against quality sides sorry but fact.

Whilst this looks a pretty good crop of juniors in the 20's, I agree & for whatever reasons not as many talented juniors from the lower grades that you expect or show potential in those grades kick on to make it in the the NRL.

Its not so much who plays, but if the new coach can instill into the players his plans and desire for success…that saying we could do with a couple of big boppas up front, which measns anyone with SIZE from U20s should be in line for a shot at FG,,forget experience and age, enthusiasm can carry them part the way..

And BMM

Toyota Cup has been a blessing and a burden for NRL clubs. Proper reserve grade is needed rather than burning out u20 before their time.
