Just a heads up tomorrow all 3 Tests from the 86 Invisibles tour on Fox 502 tomorrow

For us older blokes it will bring back great memories of watching superstars like Lewis ,Sterling ,Kenny Meninga etc and for the Poms Hanley and Schofield

For the younger blokes you can appreciate the greatness of these players and how bad the Poms really were :roll

Tough footy games , no quarter given , some hard men playing some hard games

You sure it's tomorrow..

What time does it start…?

Too late for you , you got all that homework to do

Game 1 starts at 7.00 pm here , so you will only have to wait around 15 years

Even better after the last game they have Game 2 from 1990 Ashes series

The greatest rugby league Test I have ever seen

The 86 Team was my favourite to watch… Just started to get serious about footy and watching blokes like Lewis, Miles, Meninga & Lindner stick it to the poms gave me an extra spring in my step.

Did any NSW Players play back then?

Invisibles? Never seen them play.

Sorry could not resist. I believe the '86 squad were "The Unbeatables" anyway, "The Invincibles" already given to '82.

Miles and Kenny wad the greatest centre partnership i ever saw. Its a shame centres are confined to one side of the field these days.

There will never be another test like it imo. You have to watch the first test to really appreciate that game. Benny Elias and Ricky Stuart get recalled for game 2 (in place of a couple of dirty Queenslanders) ….. Ricky throws an intercept to almost hand the series to GB - I challenge anyone to not get goosebumps when Ricky makes a break with bugger all time left and puts Mal over.

I just cried typing this.... 😢

Its probably the first time Happy has seen it… They only just got colour TV out Ipswich way last year. Prior to that, he thought he was cheering on Wests Magpies

Yeah got my tours mixed up :deadhorse:

Hope everyone enjoyed the games

It was funny , I thought to myself when watching Wally take a penalty kick for touch that I couldn't remember him doing a Benji and not find touch and sure enough he did :roll

Forgot that Lindner was on 86 tour and old Lee Crooks ex Magpie

Good memories , well until you remembered how the Magpies went :bawling

   No I don't think you still see it..

Who were the INVISIBLE's..

The Emus were the invisibles Geo

We only ever saw them mid week when they lapped Wakefield and the like

If memory serves we lost a penalty count in a provincial match in France 24-3

Players got penalized for not getting up playing the ball quickly enough from memory

I'm not sure what to make of the poms kicking a field goal when 4 behind in game 3 of '86!!

Didn't get to any of the replays but I remember some of the games very well, Rex Mossop took the place of Ray Warren in 1986 and in the First test called the players by the wrong names with the old fella getting confused with the players from the 50's & the 60's, loved the mid week games with the Emus, fun times.

Everyone brings up Ricky's last minute show, go and dash to set Big Mal up for the win but there was a try scored earlier in this game that always makes me laugh and cheer.
The team try scored by Cliffy Lyons is one of the best ever.
