2 positional changes

When Farah went off the intitial move was BMM on and Fulton to hooker.

But not long after Sheens brought Ayshford on at right centre, moved Reddy to left centre, Lawrence to 5/8, Marshall to half and Humble to hooker.

Now the 2 moves i want to discuss are Lawrence to 6 and Humble to hooker.

Humble is a great back up at 9….or even a starting 9 once given the appropriate time there. I still can see Farah at 7 and Humble at 9 long term.

However, thank god Sheens didnt cost us with his move of Lawrence to 6\. He was dreadful there, and Sheens cant do it again.

Thoughts.

Lawrence doesn't have the passing game or the subtleties needed to play five-eighth. Keep him at centre.

Just to clarify, im not really looking to bag Lawrence ( although he is down on form), more the decision by Sheens.

Never understood Sheens' fascination with wanting to play Lawrence at 6.

Because he was suppose to be the next Laurie Daley :unamused:

He will end up as a lock before he ends up as a 6

I still think he has bulked up too much in the off season and that has caused the loss of speed You see it all the time these days I would of preferred to trade off on 5kgs and he kept his speed

They said during the telecast he was playing 2nd row I thought, or maybe I misunderstood Sterlo ?

Yeh Sterlo did say he was playing 2nd row but he was wrong. Definately 5/8, Humble hooker, Marhsall 7, Ayshford centre.

I don't know how much Lawrence trains at 5/8th - but he was playing it like a robot. The couple of passes he through to ground seemed to be because he EXPECTED someone to be there to catch it - he didn't really have a look to double check first.

Humble much better than I expected at hooked, went very well IMO.

Lawrence is horribly out of form, and I dont think it matters where he plays at the moment, I think he will find form soon.

I think his skill set is definately more in line with centre or edge back rower, IMO he is not suited to 5/8.

Sheens was short of options and given the result it is hard to be critical of the way he went with the positional change ups he went with.

Humble is solid, but is by no means the best halfback at the club. He doesn't really offer anything in attack. Miller must be the first grade halfback.

After Moltzen's injury scare Beau went to fullback for a little bit. Definitely think he should be given a go there. He's playing with such confidence at the moment and is doing everything right.

couldnt agree more. I thought exactly the same thing

They did say that , but I think they were wrong , I think Lawrence and Fulton kept swapping positions ( Fulton 3 in Lawrence 4 in and vice versa ) I think that confused the commentators .

Totally agree Lawrence was very very poor at five-eighth

So far this year not much better at centre…but agree. Lawrence should never see the #6 position ever again!

Humble has genuine utility value. Lawrence at 6 is a big no-no. I'd prefer to see Dane Chisholm there as he is finding good form for BRET at the moment and offers better play making ability.

1\. marshall
2\. lawrence
3\. reddy
4\. ayshford
5\. ryan
6\. moltzen
7\. farah
9\. humble

14\. tuqiri

i was always against moving farah from hooker, however he is no where near what he used to be. i think now he's better suited to an orangising halfbacks game, similar to that of peter wallace.

marshall is too structured at five eight. i think he needs to do a reverse lockyer, and switch from 6 to 1\. its worked for GI, Barba.. he's a similar sort of player…

lawrence to the wing, purely because i think he'd be more involved and effective. ideally he'll be using his strength and speed to get on the outside of the wingers in overlaps situations..
