20 Years, what has changed?

The Tigers are celebrating their 20th year and after today I'm wondering what has really changed during that time.

We've changed coaches, had clean out after clean out and rebuild after rebuild, we've changed jersey, changed home grounds, changed coaches and changed players. But today was a reminder of the one consistent. It feels like we've been watching the same garbage since the early 2000s.

Maguire has one hell of a job ahead of him. I honestly don't know what it will take to turn this club around. Do you?

@Fraze23 Maguire is the best coach we have had and with heaps of contracts up this year and next I’m expecting Maguire to fill spots with some half decent signings.

By year 3 of his contract I’m confident Maguire will have a much better roster. Whether that is top 4 material though is doubtful. We’ll see.
 
Not much. Same old Wests Tigers. Give you a glimmer of hope and then next minute have you crashing back down to earth.
 
It is almost a direct replay of when we came into the comp. Signing crap players on big long terms contracts.

Mbye, Reynolds, Packer, Matulino = Seers, Field, O'Hara, Cayless.
 
i don't mind Reynolds. Not our best, but like Thompson, he gives 100% always. Need a leader in th3e forwards

Reynolds was pus in defence. Rushed in and left gaps all night. Has energy and tries hard, but doesn't make up for his general lack of ability.
 
I do not know how many times I have said this but the Philosophy of the club has to change ... as opening header reads What has changed in 20 years ? Well NOTHING!
Still playing at multi grounds ..still dividing the supporter base ... still have inadequate training facilities ...until these major principals are rectified nothing will change . You see the club does not want to change the fossils running the club just like everything as it is, they bring a chairman into the club that just dwells on the past.So answering this IMO nothing is going to change ,this has to start at the top to eventually flow to the player group ...Laugh all you like but if change does not come you will be revisiting this thread in a couple of seasons!
 
2010 and 2011 we had premiership winning standard teams. Mostly based on juniors and good recruiting. Since then it’s been downhill. Our Flegg team has been awful, our long term planning suspect. Recruiting guys like Matterson is a start but we need more Twals, less Packers
 
After having Sheens for so long, I don't think having 5 coaches in the last 8 years has helped much. Its not an excuse for today, but when we look at the last 20 years, not many teams burn through the coaches that quick. There have been some good wins, but plenty of lengthy losing streaks and poor performances since 2011. Today is just another one to add to the list. High up on the list.
