2005 final against saints

my ticket I bought from a scalper cost $750 on the 50m line and the ticket had St George vs TBA so they had bought it when they first qualified.
In comparison 50m ticket for the GF was $450
I remember the backlash lots of talk on sports media about the unfairness... I remember going to a ticketek I think in Parra it was hidden away in the myer store... Forget which game maybe the Broncs semi but managed to get to all four finals games
Cowboys week 1 blew me away that was just unbelievable
Broncos next week we were behind the posts at the SFS remember giving it to them as they were in the in goal after we scored.
Dragons game we were up high in the stand eastern side about 20m line coincidentally had another member from here sitting next to us.
GF I still have the ticket but the prints all Faded...

Yes
Went with my son & @Suzie-Q & her daughter.
I had a crappy old Canon computer at the time didn't trust it with tiketek online... So.camped out at Castle Hill ticketek... Got there about 1am before they went on sale, was 11th in line.... We had a game of cricket going by 2am 🤣

The day was a bit of a blur for me...very stressed and worried at times during the game... Remember it being very hot during the lower grades... We were sitting in the corner directly where benji & big patty were heading.

Headed over to Wests Ashfield and then Balmain LC that night... Didn't go in either just soaking up the atmosphere... Victoria Rd was closed by the time we got there... Home about 2am and still too wound up to sleep so watched the replay twice... Got some sleep at about 6 am... Insane day will never forget it
Sounds familiar Ink 🤣
I got a leave pass and decided to do a pub crawl. By the time I got to the Victory Hotel in Brisbane City to watch on the big screen I had one good leg and one good eye.
Mostly remembered the crowd going off and me not being able to do the same because I had a busted body, I still had a sling on ☹️
Thank god for foxtel and replays which I re-visted twice that week..how good.

My brain hurts thinking it's now longer from 2005 then it was 1989 to 2005 which in 2005 felt like a hundred years since 1989. Now 2005 feels like yesterday.

There used to be a vid on YouTube made by Sincas - one magnificent night I think it was.
There is a part in that video that always gave me goosebumps. The commentary team crossed to the sideline bloke, I think it was Vossy and he said words to effect of “the Tigers fans are now drowning out the Dragons fans”. The cameras did a swooping crowd shot and every person in our colours was going apeshit.
Would love to feel like that again….

It’s still on YouTube just watching it now

I bought tix for this match before the Brisbane game that's how confident I was.

Remember also getting tix for the Australia v Rest of the world cricket match a couple of weeks later and picking them all up on way in.

Can never recall a game before and since with as much atmosphere........even with double the attendees......the sly remarks walking down Driver ave which I didn't let pass made the late 70s seem sedate.

This forum was buzzing that week.

It was the best day! Daughter and I headed over to one of the clubs, got our Premiers t-shirts, saw knuckle and con, sign-languaged a bit of a convo with Sheens, Fults, and Gibbo, then tried to go into the club, but because my girl was only 15, and it was after 10pm by the time the bus arrived, we weren't allowed in. So we did two laps of Parramatta Rd waving the flags, drove home to the foot of the mountains, woke everyone in the house up, hubs said, "My favourite Tigers player is that Heighington fella. What a bloody interview!" Finally got to sleep about 4am, then headed over to Campbelltown the next day to see the boys and the trophy. Awesome!! Even better to share it with great friends 🖤🤍🧡

This was the only final we missed in 2005. Instead, we rocked up to wests Campbelltown with a very good friend,a dragons supporter. When we were signing in, they asked her to cover her Jersey (even in a wheelchair!) because of the rivalry. Our drive home was much happier than hers lol

Remember all the talk on here from you guys. You were moderating I think at the time.

I sat in same corner after picking up tickets at the Enmore theatre.

Sad you and @Suzie-Q didn't get into WA.

Body surfing the Fonz and he still acting cool while Hodgson was complaining about his lost phone was a classic.

Shame I didn't get my SonyErricson phone with video capabilities delivered a week earlier.

I think I have that burnt on dvd

The only finals game I didn't watch live, but no regrets as the whole year was so amazing and can't be replicated (partly cause ill never be 21 again haha). How good was the following week, literal tears flowing everywhere from the Balmain and Magpies faithful, that moment gave us something we couldn't have had without the JV and I'm forever grateful
