2010 halfback poll

the Marshall and Molten - M & M combo was very effective.
I suppose injury may dictate who ends up in the halves, as to be expected there will be halves combo's tried until a good balance is achieved.
who-ever is there don't be expecting too much, as this leads to dis- appointment.
remember they are a work in progress

part of the reason gallant left was because he knew we had great fullbacks like moltzen at gallant. at cowboys im sure he will have greater chances at more starting roles.

and regarding mullaney..i recall an article where tim sheens stated that mullaney will get a run if he keeps up his efforts in nyc.

Moltzen is a great player who improved in the fullback postion..........i love the kid .....but great fullback is pushing it.....1\. Gallant 6\. Benji amd 7 Moltzen was the best the team looked consistantly in '09.....

Mitch Brown is my dark horse for the 1 jersey 2010........

Look for Mullaney to start in the halves in the NYC next year.....number 7 replacing Nichols with Liam Ayoub in the 6......

Geo, i'd be very excited to see Mullaney in the halves. I rate the kid, but i think some people have unrealistic expectations of the guy. In my opinion, he'd be eaten alive in the NRL at the moment. Im very interested to see how he progresses.

I agree Brown is the dark horse. Whether its fullback, wing or right centre, he could be a real surprise packet. i rate the guy.

I think he's a fair way off FG too mate…..

He came to the club as a half ...he had Lui and Nichols in front of him..played junior footy and Ball in the halves ....

If Kahu is with the 20's next year he will be the fullback..........

Mullaney playing some NSW Cup games next year might be a good idea. Will get him used to playing against the bigger boys.

i voted for moltzen as i believe he and benji have a great combination, but im really excited about taumata and expecting a big year from him.

lazerus' preferred position is halfback, thought it is unlikely we will see this line up

Intriguing to me is whether Taumata or Moltzen will end up the long term no.7\. If Taumata gets the nod, where does that leave Moltzen if Tuqiri is in the squad? If Moltzen is half-back, does Taumata come off the bench, and if so, in what position? IMO Moltzen must be in the starting line-up somewhere.

I can't remember a pre-season where the best 17 out of the top squad was so unclear. Can only be good for our prospects later in the season.

I think everyone is misreading the question which is, Who will start more games at half back in 2010? And the answer of course is Benji Marshall. Not Who do you 'think' will start more games at halfback in 2010?

We have talented depth in so many positions, with either AJ Or Moltz in number 7 and Farah chiming in, this will take alot of pressure of Benji! I think either of those 2 are more then capable which will alow us to see Marshall at his best, can u imagine the pressure he would have been under with Morris in in 7 or 6\. This will also help Farah as well, i think we will see the best of our team next season.

Have not seen enough of Taumata, happy for Moltzen to be the starting half, certainly don't want Lui in the team until he learns how to tackle and put his body on the line, stay in the under 20's for the time being.

just got the word that taumata won the sprint trials at the tigers at training today..so fastest in the team for now..
