I was able to talk to someone about my membership over the phone straight away. Only problem is if you want to pay by direct debit you have to fax them a form or go to Concord to get it started. Bummer.

I have a few issues with the memberships this year (and seemingly most years). I think the Step Up promotion is great and encouraging some competition and rivalry between the clubs… but having memberships that are basically just pre-purchased match tickets is ridiculous. Memberships and match tickets are 2 totally different things. I don't live in Sydney anymore... actually I don't even live in Australia at the moment, so there is no point in me buying match tickets. Finally they released the stripes membership package where I can be a member without having to spend money on tickets... but now I see these memberships don't count as figures on the whole Step Up promotion. Why not???!!!

I would hazzard a guess the AFL clubs who do get 40,000 members, a lot of those probably don't pre-purchase match tickets. I know they get huge crowds, but who can guarantee how many or which matches they can go see during the year. If the NRL and clubs want more members, just promote that... Memberships... NOT season tickets.

Yes …..but when those Memberships ...the one's with voting rights to elect the Wests Tigers Board become available....I'll gladly fork over $1000 a year for that type of Membership.....until then ST is what they sell ....

I'm not even that interested in voting on the board… I get to vote at Tigers Leagues with my membership, but I am just happy to show my support and help financially with the football club. But I am not sure if the issue is with Wests or the NRL... does anyone know if the other clubs membership packages are similar to ours or completely different? (ok I will go research this myself).

I will pay for the stripes membership... because I want to support my club in some way. Just a bit silly that this doesn't add to the statistics and add to reach the 10,000 supporters mark. Maybe if it did count we would be leading the pack???!!! Who knows!

I have an out of town membership as I live on the GC. My gripe isnt with the membership but the $30 cooler bag I purschased at the same time. You would honestly be lucky to fit a sandwhich and a can of drink in it. Im actually going to use it as my travelling toiletries bag. As much as im sounding like my elderly father….for $30 I would expect a cooler bag to hold at least a six pack!

Seems the money gouging of Searles pricing structure will bite them in the arse this year.

Greed and lack of forward thinking cost the Gold Coast teams before and unless this is rectified may do so again

Where did you see that tigerstu, I was under the impression that all types of membership counted towards the total membership. If it doesn't, isn't that false promotion? By the way has anyone received their membership cards yet?

above the graph of the membership numbers it says ticketed club memberships.
Meaning only the memberships that include tickets for all/some of the home games

Jenzed - in reference to your query re membership cards, you should receive them 12 - 15 March. I had a letter from them yesterday telling me I would receive mine around that date, bear in mind I am an Out of Towner. I have received all other items of the kit. Good Luck !

From the NRL website on the graph that was shown and that is used for the countdown for first team to reach 10,000:

Note: Membership numbers are correct as of 19/02/2010\. Membership numbers are only inclusive of Ticketed Club Memberships, and are not reflective of the total membership numbers a club will have.

So the whole thing is a big con. I had a look on a few other club websites, they are all basically the same kind of packages as the Tigers are offering. If you don't live in the area, can't commit to buying match tickets now… you don't get counted in the figures.

So what is the whole promotion about? Is it supporting the NRL? Getting bums on seats?

considering those are the dates of the first round I would certainly hope we have them prior to that!!!!

We got our extras today. The member's car flag is great and I have a 9 yr old with a grin as big as can be - he can't wait to take his new pencil case to school!

:astonished: What…..you mean you got the Hodgo t-shirt of his back and all it took was a Flag and a pencil case..........

Was only $8 more than GA which I now see lookin at the map is the bit behind the posts.
Its not a money thing, thats nothin.

I just needed to get that off my chest, you ssee in the appliction res. ticket options, you think youre getting a decent seat ( well stoopid me did anyway) and then find out I'll be looking to my right for at least 90 minutes.

Just thinking today how much of a rort this all is nowadays, I remember the trial at this ground only 6 years back when Patty snapped his leg, we'd just got herbal world onboard..I think it was $10 in and I was on the 40m line, the trial at LO against manly when a MASSIVE storm hit and Staks & Knuckle got drenched….$5

$50 odd yesterday for tix & parkin...at least I had a decent seat tho

Not cheap

They certainly make money out of people now just for trial games. No wonder teams don't travel to far from Sydney these days to play them. I would have thought that if you ordered tickets through Wests Tigers that they would have given you a seat/s in the WT fan bay. Being given a seat on the dead ball line doesn't seem right at all.

Well I emailed the club about the tix that were ordered three months back that sees me sitting parallel to the ingoal - disappointing but not surprising I recieved no reply.

Signed up before christmas last year and still haven't recieved the membership card/ticket. Only the hat, keyring and sticker or whatever…

Pretty dissapointed. I do hope this is soon sorted out!

for some reason, the tickets are always delivered last minute or worse still… you have to pick them up at the gate in round 1\. I don't know why they are always so close to the first game but it happens every year. fingers crossed they come a bit earlier this year though.
