2011 Heritage Jerseys

To be honest, I'm not overly disappointed that the heritage jerseys aren't being released. They are the same as last year, and I got one then, so it doesn't bother me.

And if the supplier is saying that they don't produce them because they don't sell as well as the other ones, why is there such an argument?? Surely this is a smart business decision from both the club and the supplier. The people on this forum may like them and hate the other ones, but to be honest, this isn't exactly a huge sub-sect of the supporter base. If the pink ones are selling like hotcakes, which doesn't surprise me because I have seen quite a few myself, then they shouldn't make the other ones and lose money.

The club seems to get bagged senseless about the amount of jerseys we do have, and then when they cut down a bit in the retail sense, the people on this forum scream and shout. Can they ever win?

Embrace the 200 years of combined history.. Dont ignore it or forget it. How many old victa magpies jerseys or philips balmain jerseys do you see at games??? Its passionate fans remembering the team they grew up with WITHIN the team they follow in 2011\. Embrace it and respect it like other clubs do.

I get upset when people say forget about the past.. WT has 11 years of heritage.. True it does but does that mean we have less of a overall history and tradition then melbourne storm?? I dont think so!

If we just went for the "new identity" stuff that they are talking about, then we should have called ourselves the "Greater Sydney Champions" or something like that and played out of Homebush.
But no, we are the Wests Tigers, a proud merger between two great club

Whilst this would look great, this accentuates the split between Balmain and Wests within the joint venture. We should be celebrating our one club together, as well as occasionally the history of the two clubs which created the one club.

Going off on a tangent I know, but what you are suggesting is like saying Australia should have a flag from every country which it's population is made up of, rather than one uniting them all. (This may not be politically correct, but it is the same issue)

We should just go for new colours and get rid of the Black, White and Gold. Bring out the Heritage jerseys twice a year as a celebration point but no more

With the Women in League Round, maybe we could investigate the Pink jersey as a full time option?

I agree we only need the two heritage jerseys.

At the very least can we have the heritage jerseys at all home games as in Black and White at Campbelltown, Black and Orange at Leichhardt.

Wests Tigers are a 'Joint Venture' between two teams. Wests and Balmain. Having the two Heritage jerseys as our main jerseys would be a great 'step forward' in my opinion for the Joint Venture.

Why? Because it directly shows our past whilst everything else shows our future.

people love getting the old phillips and victa jerseys out.
On Sunday there were HEAPS of them! Many, many, many, many, MANY more than the current hi-vis safety vest that is our current jersey.

And what's more, the people wearing them were in their teens, twenties and thirties, not the older crowd.

Bug, would be be interested in helping do a little survey at the entrance to the ground at the next LO or CS game so that we could get some empirical evidence to back this up?

The great thing about the WT Heritage Jerseys though is that they have the great WT Logo on the left side of the chest. Black & White and Black & Orange. Beautiful stuff. I do not believe they would sell less than the other jersey options this year. I simply do not believe it. Peter Wynns and Rebel Sports have reported the lowest sales ever of the 2011 strip.

Xblades have lost the plot I reckon. Time to offer our kit contract to Nike or Adidas/Reebok I reckon.

…. Or even CCC as I recall they supplied Balmain in the late 80's early 90's. The CCC gear produced for the Bulldogs looks great.

See, wher I was sitting, it was all new jerseys, and I counted at least 20 of the pink ones too.

That's true Suze, I did see a fair few Pink jerseys on the day too.
These pictures do not provide an accurate sample and they may be bias towards more traditional fans who sit on the hill (dunno???).
However, even this the simple count does show a striking trend that demonstrates that, contrary to this "new identity" stuff that Concord is sprouting, clearly people love to embrace our heritage.

I did not see any of the 2011 fluoro orange or white jerseys – and I was looking out for them.
