2012 - Top 8

Sorry to be saying this but I don't believe we will make the top 8 this year. The closest we'll come will be to miss out on for and against however I think we'll do well to make 10th. Whilst having Ellis back will be a great lift, he can't do everything. Farrah will be consistent but basically without everyone else firing around them it just won't happen. And from what they've produced, not just the past few weeks, but basically the season thus far, they can not match the top teams let alone any other team within 4 points aove or below our curent ladder position. Yes we can look back and think about the 7 in a row, but who were the big scalps among them ? No one. Canberra and Penrith were the only 2 teams we have dominated all year. The first 20 minutes against the Knights was perhaps the most perfect I have seen our team play and then look at that horror story. For me, that truly showed how inept we are in 2012 and sadly, for the remainder.

Cowboys were placed third when we took them down…

Melbourne in Melbourne, Sharks (lucky win)
Probs would have beaten dogs with our team for next week and Souths/Manly/Broncos close. Beat warriors, Cowboys,
Honestly if we make the 8 I wouldn't write us off at all during the finals, especially now our Captain doesn't have duties or other to worry about

At this stage we need to stay positive. All of this "we are no chance", "sheens has wrecked us". Where's the spirit? We can go on undefeated and definitely make the top 8\. Boys just need to work hard! And as supporters we need to support them! Ever heard of "the crowd got us home tonight" That's our chance to have a say!

Some people are negative… We aren't coming 15th
We are 9th, one spot outside the 8 on for and against

Can't help but feel that a top eight spot would be a remarkable finish to the season proper considering our run into the finals includes meeting the Storm, Dogs and Souths who are all in form.
Our current form leaves little to be excited about. The amount of soft tries that have been let through recently from pretty readable plays doesn't inspire confidence in our defensive ability
I'd like to think we are certainties for the eight but I'm not convinced.

I would hardly say the storm are in form - have lost 3 of their last 4 and in their last 2 outings have conceded 60 points and scored only 16.

This is what i think the 8 will be:
1\. Storm
2\. Dogs
3\. manly
4\. broncos
5\. Cowboys
6\. rabbitohs
7\. sharks
8\. tigers

if the 8 did end up that way, it would be a great week 1 of finals…
storm v broncos
cowboys v tigers (05 gf rematch)
and 2 sydney derbies:
Dogs v manly (hasler v his old club & williams vs his new club)
souths v sharks (2 teams that have not featured in the finals for a few years, and remember the last time they played together in that monday night game? that was a cracker of a match)

I see 6 points, maybe 8\. It kills me but i can't see us in the 8\. I reckon 9 or 10 unfortunately. Hope i am wrong though and would be happy if i was. C'mon tigs, get it done.

Ye of little faith.

I have been saying all year that we will kick on when it matters most. Really, the Knights game has been the only blight since the Canberra game earlier in the year. We lost to the inform side without our captain/hooker, and the other game we lost was when the team was distracted by the death of family.

Watch us lift. We should beat the Panthers, but that won't be impressive. The Cowboys game, that's where it all starts from. We'll go up there and play phenomenally well and launch ourselves into the 8\. I can see us finishing around 5th, which is pretty handy, and by Week 2 of the finals it's anyone's game.

My memory may not serve great, but iirc didn't we play Penrith last year and only just scrapped home against them, then absolutely destroyed the cowboys the following week? hope we are seeing similar signs, but would of preferred a better effort in the 2nd half against the dog and Newcastle.

Hope your right Steve O At full strength I would back us to beat the Cowboys in Nth Qld We seemed to have made them into our biatches in the last few seasons

I agree, I'm always confident going into games against the cowgirls.

All the bottom 8 teams will win several games between now and the end of the season, don't worry about that. The top 8 teams will lose several of their remaining games. This season is not cut and dried like previous seasons. I would not be surprised if the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th & 13th positioned teams were putting pressure on the top 8 come round 24\. Any team can win on any day this year, it's that even - except Parramatta, who have major problems and injury worries.
