2013: PRE SEASON HYPE

Robbie's had to defend too much in recent years. And this year, well you could argue that he was also our only playmaker.

If we can improve our defence in 2014 (it couldn't get much worse) & our halves stand-up, then opposing sides may not target Robbie as much giving him more time/opportunities to do his thing. A lot of "ifs" there though.

People can have their opinions , but if you think that Robbie's best season was 2013 you are kidding yourself

I'm not blaming him for our poor on field performances , I'm just answering the question that was asked by Demps honestly

Nobody said that…only you. :unamused:

Dont turn it into something its not

It's pretty harsh to nail Robbie Farah for not living up to the hype. He was one of if not our best this season. He plays through injury every season. Yet still he bares the brunt of the criticism when there are guys out there every week acting like they don't care. He also played 3 pretty good games for NSW as well. In terms of 'Hype' though Anasta , Ayshford and Lawerence all had seasons that were below the standards we expect from them, particularly Ayshford. I honestly can not think of a good game Ayshford had this season. However I think the biggest bust of the season has got to go to Jack Buchanan. Someone who we probably paid decent money to lure from St George. He may have had 3 good games this season and In my opinion heading into 2014 he is a reserve grader. Further more we found a better prop with-in our own ranks in big Ava and we are probably paying him a fraction of what we are paying Buchanan and getting a far more aggressive player.

how much do you think we paid for him? i'd be surprised if he was on much more than minimum wage. he left because of a lack of opportunities just as Taupau left the dogs. And he wasn't poor, he just wasn't amazing which can't be expected of a 20 year old player in his first season of FG in a pack being beaten almost every week where he is also forced to START due to enormous injuries.

not saying he's gonna be a super star, and yes he'll be a reserve grader next year with a fully fit team but he is a solid player for his age.

Drawing a very long bow in placing any blame on Buchanan or those that signed him. A player on a small contract with a big heart and decent motor is what we need more of.

Harsh on Buchanan, hes a developing player, still a rookie….he has a counterpart in Woods too whom hes always compared to

Look on the previous page ink , people have argued that he was at his best

I'm just refuting it

I really expected Robbie to have a big season in 2013 ,especially after him taking the next step at SOO level in 2012

I agree with Buchanan he achieved as much as anyone could ask for in 2013

He puts some size on in his trunk and below and he could be one of our biggest improves in 2014

I did look….no one said the words you used

Please quote someone that said "Robbie's best season was 2013 "

They don't need to say that Ink , if I have stated he didn't have his best season in 2013 and they argue it they are saying he did

There is no middle ground ,he either did or he didn't have his best season

stop twisting words to start an argument

and **they** they are saying he did

**They** don't need to say that

Make your mind up

Finished twisting the comment to suit whatever agenda you now have

Why don't you go back to playing the victim like you did yesterday

It suits you better

I still remember an interview before the season kicked off.

He said he wanted to nail down a spot I'm Reggie's, and develop his body physically to match the boys in first…

Geez he exceeded all expectations, and can only be better for the run.

When you finish 15th , is it safe the probably 90% of our squad didn't live up to the hype ??

Many of the senior players certainly didn't live up to the hype including Farah

Are you forgetting the amount of injuries we had? Yes we had a number that didn't live up to the hype. But we didn't ever have an established 1st grade team…

At what stage did Farah not play well? Oh wait ur right, he did nothing when he was injured... That must be what u were referring to....

I am a great Farah man. But I must admit that he has had better years than this one.

He does too much in defence and he is not getting any younger. It would be great if we could get another hooker to replace him for 20 to 25 min. This would ease his workload and everyone would benefit ( except the opposing team).

how can anyone knock buchanan the kid played well above his weight he should have been playing 5 or so games for the year but through injuries he played most games he can take a bow .ok Robbie may be didn't have a great year but he still had a good year . to all the knockers have a merry Christmas and a happy new year go the west tigers

That's Dene Halatua's job this year.

As far as Buchanan is concerned he ranks in my opinion as one of the most admired players for WT in 2013\. Throwing a 20 year prop into first grade week in and week out is no mean task and he performed his task admirably. He needs to be encouraged to keep at it and will improve greatly as he body matures. I wish him and all WT players a good year in 2014.
