2013 WT State Cup Coach

Balmain would still of made the appointment last year with the endorsement of Sheens/Humpty… To assume Fletcher should simply get the gig is somewhat naive...

This new team will be more than a branded WT team, and I'm sure there will be more controls and alot more changes exercised by Humpty now he has got the owners to sign-off on the scenario.

I feel sorry for Fletch, but I also feel the WT's should conduct a proper search to find the best suitable candidate!

Well, it'll be hard to find a coach with a better credential than a bloke who got a side to a GF in 2012…

Especially one without a full time job outside the club…which is what Im/was led to believe theyre looking for

If it is Joe Thomas maybe its a good thing when he played for Wests he played it hard under coach Warren Ryan and only for injuries Wests would have been into the finals that year..

If they are willing to compensate financially, then it should not be an issue. Asking a coach to be full-time, for pittance, gets the same level of results…

Was Thomas ever announced by the WT as the appointment?

I don't believe anything official has aired on the WT website.

the club needs to get the coach appointed , this will give the players more confidence , 5 weeks till trials and no coach is pretty average

Good news.

It was getting to that time an announcement had to be made.

Gave all of the NRL coaches a chance to make assessments as a group and make some decisions about oveerall structure and now bring in a coach. A respected coach at that

Looking forward to seeing a successful WT State Cup team run around this year. Should be a good mix of experience and youth in there and Fletch certainly has some runs on the board so good news all round.

Willow, Are you Creating a new sub forum for WT NSW Cup or is it all staying in the Balmain & Western Suburbs Juniors one?

I think we'll look at creating a new sub forum wtfl1981.

We would have to be pre season favourites for the NSW Cup you would think with the playing talent we will have at our at our disposal

For starters the players from the squad that narrowly missed out on winning the GF last season

Plus some of the up and coming NYC players who will be too old

Blokes like Curtis Sironen ,Matt Groat, some of our new recruits that won't initially crack it in top grade Tim Moltzen

It will be a pretty strong side imo
