Just on our heritage jersey, they look pretty good but you would think our heritage strip should be the jersey from 2000, the one we played our first ever match in. Either the gold or black one, doesn't matter which.

This is the brightest blood orange colour the WT have ever used. Don't like it at the moment, might grow on me, we'll see.

The Orange jerseys always seem to far outsell the black ones so we'll how this new colour goes. Dont like the short v either, it just sorta stops mid jersey in the middle of nowhere. Very poorly designed!

Arent the original Balmain colours listed as black and gold?

I agree that this is too bright, but when the orrange is minimal like on the alternate jersey, it stands out nicely and looks great.

I prefer the orange from the early 2000's, but wasn't Humpty looking to find a tone of Orange that no one ese had?

I don't care what we wear, as long as we are competitive and winning our fair share of games. I was going to say I would support them even if they wore pink…..but I guess I already do!

okay, so i am expecting a lot of comments disagreeing with me on this one, but thats okay. i will post anyway. im not trying to upset anyone - so i apologise if this does upset you! - and just think this idea is a possibility for the club.

i think that the tigers should change the black in the strip to a dark charcoal. doesn't sound like it would make any difference at all, but i think it is a great colour that has more depth, variation in shades than black and really looks good being worn.

i got this colour from watching the USC basketball team's uniforms - which look great imo:


i know the GWS giants have charcoal, but id like a darker one. if you look at just the charcoal one, you wouldn't notice much difference. and why not have two colours unique to the nrl?!

I've also taken off the little magpies off the sleeves. i'm sick of them now. lets face it, the club is called WESTS tigers, white is in the club's jersey, and if they were to modify the (unifying) black then it would be the same for both sides of the merger.

long story short, it is time to move on from things holding the club back from being seen as a modern, innovative club.

although a very simple change, i think using a more modern colour in a slight rebranding can take advantage of fair weather and loyal fans alike looking for something new.

it might grow on you… :wink:

Hey ed, thanks for your constructive comment! I'll take it on board and really think about what you said, which was really kind and helpful!
It's great that you took the time to respond in such a positive and eloquent manner - I really appreciate it!
I know you're super eager to see some more of my designs (I paint as well, maybe you'd like to buy a couple of my abstracts - acrylic on canvas?) but as you liked the one I did so much, I'd rather leave it as is…you know, quit while I'm ahead!

It's not actually that bad of an idea Turnstyle and looked good on the basketball singlets. Half the teams in the comp have black in their colours so just to be different (although I guess we're already different with the orange). It shouldn't make any difference to the whole Balmain/Wests thing either as we'd still be keeping the orange and white.

In regard to the magpie I still think they should leave it on there. Although personality I don't buy into the whole Balmain/Wests thing (I was 5 or something when they merged so I've never had the whole loyalty to one side thing) it would upset a lot of people. Better to leave it there and save the problems removing it would cause; it's a good historic thing anyway.

Seriously though, I don't mind people telling me it's stupid, or you can't tell the difference, or whatever, I just didn't appreciate the p1ss being completely taken.
If the difference is too subtle or you don't know what I'm getting at with such a slight change then people can say so without trying to make others feel like crap.

It's difficult to really show how good it would look on the jersey template, because it is so 'flat', hence the pic of the basketball team.

I see your point regarding the little maggies: if people like them no need to remove them.

I understand it may sound trivial to some, but I really believe there is a good marketing opportunity in simply having great looking, modern and different jerseys that people will want to buy. Even before winning in 05, I'm sure the tigers jerseys would have sold heaps because at the time they were different and looked great.

I think the days of having the same 'traditional' style strip forever are drawing to a close and would like the tigers to be assertive with this.
