Sirro is recovering from surgery according to the latest injury update. So not quite a full off season for him again.

Thanks for the info, even if it is not good. Oh well, did not see him mentioned in the casualty ward thread, so assumed he was firing on all cylinders in the off season.

Where do the likes of Pritchard, Williams. Papali. Taumolo et al defend

Well that depends on what their 13 is doing Geo ??

Blair will be 13 and he plays tight to help control the speed of the ruck and wrestle

If you have a 13 who is more mobile he can play in a more traditional defensive role and you can then play a back rower tighter

But we aren't the above clubs .

Other issue is our inside men which will be Moses and Brooks in the defensive line

You put Taupau and either Brooks or Moses together at 3 and 4 in and we might as well mark the highway we would be building for opposition sides to stroll down

Just my opinion though

8 Blair
10 Woods
11 Santi
12 Sironen
13 Taupau

14 Seumanufangai
15 Sue
16 Lodge
17 Galloway

Would you play Taupau tight in defence with that line up ??

…all im seeing is the same as this year..

Yep minus Bodene Thompson our best performed second rower

And people get annoyed when I can't see any positives going into the 2015 season 😢

True!

We need the x-factor 2nd rower otherwise it's more of the same old, same old. And we know how that turned out :frowning:

Unless quality, new blood is regularly introduced it can be hard to improve. I understand that something had to give between Sue/Siro/Thompson but you can't continually rely on young blood to make it change. So while I see good things in the likes of Lodge, Santi etc we are still missing a large piece of the puzzle…

Bodene was one of our worst back rowers in 2013, yet one of the best this year. Austin was playing nsw cup, but was one of our best this year. Even more likely to have more players breaking through next season.

We've got the most talented batch of kids we've ever produced, and they're now a year old, stronger and wiser.

We have a competent coaching and s+c team (or at least people with very solid runs on the board), and a boardroom run by professionals.

Oh and Tapau is a prop, and only a prop. If you guys want to replace Fulton then Santi is the most similar player we have. JT may prefer a different approach to the pack however.

Thats not to say improvement is an impossibility, it just remains to be seen

Im hoping this will be the case recruitment wise for 2016….2015 has been all about coaching staff, s&c and football operations....

Before the crap hit the fan in Rd20 we were running 5th. Player power decreed we'd have a new Coach. The playing group should be happier and with 20 odd games under their belt I think Brooks and Moses can lift us to a top 8 finish

I've no doubts we will improve Ink , but so will many other sides

Yup but Tedesco, brooks, Moses, Simona, noffa etc will be a year older. That makes a difference.

What does make a difference though is our best back from the backend of the season and probably our most consistent forward aren't there anymore.

The majority of our team are young and will be better players next year.
only Richards and Galloway are at the back end of their careers…and maybe Lawrence. The rest have many years left it them.

I'd add the skipper to that list too. The only problem is if these kids we've got live up to their potential then we've got no chance of keeping them all under the cap. Our best chance is to surround them with older heads who can perform consistently and bring the best out of those around them before we lose them to the clubs with bigger salary caps than us.

Screw it, 2015 is a complete write off now so may as well throw them all to the lions and see who survives for 2016.

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Seve
4\. Naiqama
5\. Simona
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. Cherrington
10\. Taupau
11\. Sironen
12\. Akauola
13\. Lodge
14\. Seumanufagai
15\. Graham
16\. Sue
17\. Santi

5th in Round 20 2014.

we clearly had a solid squad last year. and we're gonna be 1 year better now with players like Moses, Teddy and Brooks really relishing in the experience. add in better S&C + board + management.

top 8 should be our goal once again, and just like last year we are perfectly capable of getting there.

1\. Tedesco
2\. Richards
3\. Lawerence
4\. Simona
5\. Nofo
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Sironen
12\. Tapuau
13\. Sue

14\. Lodge
15\. Ava
16 Sitaleki
17\. Halatau

We're 1 more year of experience, a centre and a second rower away from being a genuine premiership threat IMO. Make it happen JT !

With Blair now gone, what are the odds that Lawrence will be in the forwards? I think that he will make a very good lock or second row.

Seve to the centre position.
