Me too, although Bennett has some pull, he is nearly 70 and likely to lose interest quick, probably Maguire is a better long term fit for us, but let's wait for the official announcement

It would at least mean that Gold Bar Benny will have dodged a bullet.

He might a clause in his contract that says he can punt any dead wood in the team…. :slight_smile:

Des back to Manly was a real shock I would have bet anyone that would not happen but it just goes to show we don't know much really , we have Madge , Bennett , Seibolt , Taylor , Toovey , Walters , all looking for a coaching job , I left CLEARY out as I think he is as good as gone , who we get I have no idea at all but once the first club come out and states we have signed X then it will all fall into place , Bennett could be a real chance hear early if Broncos secure Souths Coach but Madge could be the man for us as I think Bennett would be over the top $$$ for us

Wests Ashfield have posted a huge $$$poker machine profit, part of which could be siphoned to pay for Wayne.

What do you want them to spend it on? They can't provide TPAs because they own the joint - you can only spend up to the cap on players, so they can't pay over that to attract anyone. I really can't think what you want them to spend their money on.

Rochow and co, won't be happy with new appointment. They were subsidised by Cleary.

Brooks would be too nice , I'd prefer to see Packer's nasty sneer and a friendly word of advice in his ear to stay down reminding him that it would continue to happen for the next 75 minutes if he didn't

The only problem with that happening is the retaliation from RCG, Fisher-Harris and Kikau would probably end up sidelining Packer for the entire season!

If we were going to sign Bennett for 1 million a season but we got Madge at $700, and Cleary was on $400.
Does that mean we can still afford to keep Cleary as a hostage in a basement at Concord ?

I'd say there is more to play out in this

Give it a week or so and it will probably be a straight swap for next year

Wouldn't blame Bennett if he does want to stay at broncos next year though

Great chance for a premiership

The broncos though may just pay him out and tell him to go now
