Could live with that.

Only one thing you’ve forgotten….. How do we Get Wayne to want to come here, it’s his last contract and wants a premiership as a going away present ,
If nothing gets better here . we won’t be giving him that present.

The Brisbane River will flow clean water , before Bennett comes here except as an opposition Coach.

How..?

Pay him …like any one else..

With what??.we’d need Donald Trumps coffers to get him here,
I repeat , **He wants a pension and more importantly a goodbye Premiership**.
Unless Harry ( you remember Harry, the poor mans Nick Politis)
Opens up his wallett and buys him , forget that daydream, that won’t be happening , at least in the near future,

You've been crapping on for weeks about people "making stuff up" and then you go telling us all what your best mate Wayne Bennett wants. He tell you that down at the pub did he?

Which available coaching jobs are going to give Wayne a goodbye premiership ?

How many times does Bennett have to say that he
Is staying in Brisbane next year before some here finally get it?

Don't jump the gun too quickly on this one. Bennett is the preferred option and what is being reported isn't always true - we've seen enough nonsense printed by journos to know better.

Agree Willow, Bennett wants to coach past 2019, we are offering him a chance, that chance might not be there if we sign Madge for 2019\. It looks like Pascoe is playing this well, and Bennett might have to come for 2019, or risk not having a job to go to in 2020

Exactly 851

That's the point of my post

Obviously would like to coach broncos in 2019 but that could leave him stranded without a job

If he was able to sign TPJ to broncos for 1 year than have TPJ agree on nov 1 to sign with us from 2020 they may sway our board to hold IC for 1 more year

I highly doubt that Bennett would be stranded without a job if he stayed in Brisbane one more year and missed out on a coaching contract with WT. We definitely wouldn't be the only club wanting his services once he is off contract, he'll have other options.

Somehow I feel we will get a dud deal.
I'll laugh if we end up with Griffin and release Cleary. Gus doing the old switcheroo on the coaches.
Knowing us we will probably cop that. I hate this club at times.

Another one :crazy

You never have anything of value to add?

Do you think our club will come out on top here? I don't.
The CEO and admin are dead quiet.
The coach is dead quiet.
The players have no idea what's going onand of course we the fans have no idea.

Less than a month before pre season training and we already a mess for 2019.

I'm willing to bet we won't end up with Bennett or Madge.
We are just too disfunctional to attract anyone with any real talent.

Give all the doom and gloom a rest and WAIT.

A bit early for hate don't you think. We haven't signed a new coach yet and still might end up with Cleary for 2019 at least.

No hate this end, but massive disappointment in an individual. I really find it hard to fathom the ridiculousness and extent of this father/son coaching crap. Unless of course, it has been played out to benefit them both at the expense of many others, and if so, then my feelings for the pair would be verging on hatred.

Agree formerguest

I have a 20 year old son. I love him more than anything on earth. But he’s a lunatic. His ideas are ridiculous. His weekend activities are just plain dumb. You see he’s 20 and I’m 51\. Never the two shall meet. Cleary and Cleary- disaster waiting to happen!!

Not saying anything about your own relationship, but the Cleary’ s seem to have to have a great relationship , and only they can say if it will work for them,
Nathan seems to be a lot more sensible than a lot of kids that age,

I was lucky to be able to Coach my own young bloke for a big part of his playing time ,and then , Coach his son with him, untill a crook knee paid to that.

I can honestly say that we never had a argument about playing or Coaching in all that time,
He wasn’t one of shining stars in his younger years and it wasn’t untill he was about 13
That he started to overtake most of the kids that Were our “top”Players, previously.
So we had to go through the “ sitting your own son on the bench bit”. But it wasn’t a problem,

Obviously there’s a world of difference in all of this, and the pressure of NRL,,
But if that relationship is based on mutual respect and a clear boundary set as to how problems are handled, it can be very successfull,

The best people that can tell if it will work for them , is them and only them,
It’s worked before in first grade and no doubt it will again probably at Cronulla next year,
I hope that they do get to do it, just not in the next two years

No we wouldn't be the only club spud but maybe the rumours are true and he does want to come here

Can only hope

Time will tell

Only than they are just opinions nothing more

Add value when it’s warranted.
No value adding to your post deemed necessary.
I’m afraid it appears to be Just one long sad story for you. And waiting is an effort. SIGH

Yeah it would be great if we were Wayne's first preference. Would make a nice change if we were able to attract the best coaches/players for once. Fingers crossed ?

Geez we have a bad night , did we.???
Actually it wasn’t at the pub, I’m having breakfast on the top deck of his yacht with him and he says to say hello to you, and not to hold your breath about him coming there,

Ok we’ll have it your way then,
He’ll be here next week , and we’ll have him for at least three premierships and then he will refund his payment because he’s such a nice man and is doing all these coaching gigs for the fun of it

Fair point. It might work I think you’re right about Nathan but I’m also aware that a 30 year olds mindset can change pretty quickly.

Doesnt Siebold come off contract at the end of next season? For one
And why does it depend on someone being off contract
There’s heaps here that are dead sure Cleary and Bennett are going to break contracts next year, why stop there.
Actually the one that’s likely to give him a premiership present is any of the clubs that are Better than we look like being, unless there’s a lot of changes.

Wait for what? New coach in the middle of preseason training? Or let's do another JT moment and clear this all up around round 3 of the 2019 season.
This needs to be dealt with yesterday.

The club isn't going to make any announcements either way until they have all their ducks in a line

If it is Madge perhaps they are waiting until his NZ commitments are sorted

If it is Bennett maybe a three way financial deal has to be sorted including Bennett's successor at the Broncos

Either way we will know in about 3 weeks

I'd still be betting on Cleary coaching in 2019 , Bennett to Wests Tigers , Seibold to Brisbane and who cares who takes over Souths
