Any coach who turns down Manly is our kind of coach…

Interesting one that.
I’d say our facilities are terrible, worse than manly.
Roster at manly would suit Madge more.

Don’t really get it.

Manly make the tigers look good.

It's not just the facilities. Manly don't the same number of coaching assistants as most clubs.

Trent barrett had to do the role of 5 people.

So instead of just doing his job, he had to edit videos each week for every single player. Do washing (his partner helped him wash jerseys),

It might sound petty but there were a number of things like this that Trent was doing every single week -that take an extra 20+ hours a week mean he has less time to focus on his real job.

You'll see , modern day Brian Smith …....will destroy us long term

What is there to destroy? We are rock bottom already. Lost our best juniors, a coach sacked and one who jumped in quick succession & haven’t played finals for yonks.

Seriously some people just can’t be pleased.

Madge has an extremely positive CV and is coaching an international team that beat the Aussies let alone has worked with the refs as well. We are lucky to have someome with his depth of experience and winning qualities leading our team over a rookie coach.

Pascoe gets an a+ from me considering the circumstances.

I am really happy with this appointment. Madge has the credentials and runs on the board.
Only 44 and realistically could run the Maguire Empire at the tigers for several years. I do wonder what his player pulling power is like at the moment and how he has recrafted his way of coaching during his time out of the NRL.
Pascoe and front office deserve a clap. The leaks of yesteryear seem to be just that and the club appears to be moulding into the professional organisation which will start attracting decent players and sponsors.
Definitely glass half full for the future.

Bennett is not a rebuild coach, was not suited to this position at this stage of his career, and was only ever a short term appointment. Highly unlikely at this stage of the year that he would bring any players of note with him, and he made it very clear that he wanted to stay put.

Based on that, out of the two we got the right man for the job as far as Im concerned.

I don't know if you ever understood in this thread that the point some people were making was not that there wasn't coaching changes on the horizon, rather that there isn't much point getting up in arms about it until something official was stated.

That's technically still true, although multiple media sources giving the same news 99% of the time means it's legitimate. That occurred for the first time just this afternoon.

Didn't even realise there was another forum page til I read a comment about it a week or so ago. Also found the kennel(I think its called)and I thought we were a salty bunch over Teddy. But those guys sound absolutely vengeful about Mbye. Saw that a tiger fan named Tacky is a regular stirrer there too.

Must say I'm stoked we were even being mentioned with Bennett and Maguire, so to land Madge would be great, at least we'd be moving forward. Would be even better if we release some dead weight and sign another one or two quality players.

Edit: I know its not going to help your confidence but it felt good to me, to get a laugh out of Panthers fans having meltdowns already.

Tacky managed to create a rumour that went all the way to the club administration of the time and had every media personality discussing it.
It was hilarious.
He ‘reported’ that James Tedesco is set to back flip on the Roosters at the 11th hour and join the Eels for 2018.
Had a far reaching affect and was believed almost 100% until the Roosters trumpeted JTs signing.

Come on, Maguire was an out of work former coach until RL threw him a bone with the Kiwi role. Cleary was thrown a bone as well by RL. Who are we attempting to fool?

If we don't get compensation the whole board should be sacked.

The best compensation would be that Penrith immediately take McQueen and Rochow off our hands and leave Wests Tigers with an additional two CAP spaces they can utilise for new signings 2019\. It is possible if Wests Tigers push the point.

Like i told you in another thread, we will not be getting players. The sooner you can come to terms with that the better. There's nothing to suggest we won't get financial compensation, however we will never know for sure, as the club will never disclose that kind of information.

So Teflon Pascoe avoids any flak , even though he was solely behind getting the coach that has set us back beyond where many claimed Taylor /Potter /Mayer left us

Did the club even seriously consider Toovey ....was he even spoken to .......

He gets A++ …..... Toovey would gave been a whinge after every game disaster.
