2019 NRL Grand Finals *Spoilers

@Newtown the rule is actually the team in the attacking half of the field. If the ball hit the trainer on the Canberra attacking side of half way they would have got the ball. It was bad luck but the right call. The rule probably should be reconsidered as it is mainly written for if the ball hits the ref.

Underwhelming game with a weak result.

Wighton, Clive Churchill.
Says it all really...

@Tweed_Tiger To intruct his players on their attacking and defence formation. He has no right to do this whilst play is in motion..

And to add to this point wasn’t it like only 5mins into the start of the game, so why was he even on the field?

They'll probably add frizell to the roster with Cronk retiring 🙄😂

Graham Annesley has to go. He is the problem, he is defending the decision and the referee’s action. We have no chance of improving the official perception while Annesley is there.

Why is a trainer even on the ground within the first 2 sets??

Ask Alfie , he might know !?

Roosters score after huge controversy
Tyson Otto:

Just before Tedesco's try, replays showed the referee clearly waved six more tackles and barked out the order, 'Six more, six more'. However, it was then that the pocket referee appeared to overrule the first decision be yelling out "last tackle, change over" as the Raiders pressed their attack. The Roosters then went up the other end and broke the Raiders' hearts.

“We will hear more about that six again call and the referees changing it midstream,” Phil Gould sai on Channel 9. “I can’t imagine that the Raiders weren’t fooled by the call that it was six again. “Otherwise Wighton would have kicked a second time rather than take a tackle."

Johnathan Thurston said he was "dumbfounded" by the decision – and declared the Raiders had every right to be "shattered"."Dumbfounded. I'm dumbfounded by that," Thurston told Nine. "You can hear the referees calling it, 'Six again, six again'. And then he's changed his mind. It was changing the call on the run. "It's not a good look. It is not a good look at all. I would be pretty shattered if I was the Raiders. The next set, Tedesco scores and wins them the match. Really, it is not a great look. As a team, you want to take the referees out of the equation and win the game being a consistent footy team. "It's just a huge, huge call."

NRL commentators across the game declared the Raiders were robbed. NRL great Martin Lang even branded it the biggest referee "blunder in grand final history".

Ricky Stuart’s press is quite saddening. I feel so sorry for that club at the moment.

He did the right thing, no need to go off put the attention on himself, everybody saw what happened, the newspapers will do his work for him. Still doesn't change the result though.

@Newtown They have to do something about trainers on the field. You see in most games trainers calling plays or running the defensive line from 10m behind the play.

Ive never seen a more strange post grandfinal vibe since ive been watching. The NRL is a gutless, joke of an organisation and tonight clearly showed it. It looked like a shallow/soulless victory for the roosters and tonight showed that the game has gone from bad to worse. The Roosters have brought themselves another premiership out of bending the rules and I firmly believe their corruption spreads to the on field refs and administrators of the game. Awesome season NRL (particularly Greenburg and Annesly), hang your heads in shame at producing such a rubbish ending to rubbish season.

@clokan Please everyone - be sure if you have followed the NRL on Facebook, be sure to unfollow them now!

@fibrodreaming I only watched in hope of seeing the Roosters getting booed off the stage. I enjoyed watching Thurston question Robinson over the bad 6 again reversal call. He had the hide to pretend he didn't know what he was talking about at first and then shut Thurston down, looking clearly pissed off. Good on ya Thurston.

Ah, the perpetually offended boofheads. Got to love them.

I’m no fan of the roosters, but they were very good tonight. Good tough game which the best team won.

Move on.
