Relay gold for Australia

What an anchor swim from Kai Taylor to lift Australia to victory in the men’s 4x200m freestyle final.

The Aussies held a narrow lead over England for most of the race until the arch enemy edged in front during the third leg.

Enter Taylor - the son of Australian swimming legend Hayley Lewis - who produced an all-time final leg to win the race.

“You could have barely a more fitting thing than seeing the son of the great Hayley Lewis anchor an Australian relay team to a gold medal, coming from behind, storming over the top, and winning,” Alister Nicholson said.

“Kai Taylor, take a bow. Australia, take a bow. He knew he had work to do - he got it done.”
