2026 Rugby League World Cup fixtures - October/November

my pommy bet is down the gurgler, however very happy I got some of the $10 for Tonga to win the RLWC
Pretty keen for Tonga to beat a new zealand side without Ponga in a semi final at least

He's never been given a real go. He would also probably be a match winner if given a go.
What are you basing that on?
He’s played 36 NRL games for us and even though it may not be at his favourite position, he has got to show something to negate his injury prone body. I’ve seen flashes of good play but no where near enough to justify what we have payed him so far let alone a reason to tie him up long term. Continued injuries aren’t helping.

You have just answered my question. He has only played 36 games in 3 years in between injuries. Never really been given a go as a starting half when available.

Commentary I heard was not glowing on KPP or Latu - both played ordinary games. Anyone watching the game have thoughts??
I thought for his first game for a long time KPP played well, did knock on once from dummy half but his defence is very reliable and his offloads are a weapon when his team is on a roll.
Will be glad to see him back for the Tigers
next year.
Latu not on the field long enough to get a proper look at him at 5/8 in a good team.

KPP started really strongly, he was hitting and running hard against a tough world class pack. His PCMs were good. He died off a bit in the second 40, but went the full 80 and wasn’t ordinary.
Latu didn’t really do much of anything. He played 16 and a bit minutes, had 1 run for 2m, made 4 tackles and had nearly the same amount ineffective and the rest of his stats were duck eggs.

Thanks guys- all seem to have the same impression. Probably reasonable for KPP to be rusty and as for Latu, hopefully he’ll be ok. Doubt he’ll get a run at 5/8 ahead of Lolohea now however.
