UNDER NO CIRCSUMSTANCES SHOULD DOUHEI MOVE FROM 7, HE IS OUR EVERYTHING.

Bula will be 1.
Luai will be 6.
Api will be 9 - but we need a back up, I dont think latu is that guy. Lanyon is the pick of the bunch so far.

It leaves Latu, Madden and Andrews fighting it out in nsw cup for 2 spots.

Which brings us to our next dilemma, we need to make a call on Latu. Either commit to him as a half or turn him into a 13. Because the numbers dont work at the moment. Latu isnt ready to lead a team around in the NRL (yet), he needs reps under his belt and to learn how to control a game.

But incase i wasnt clear - DOUHEI CANT BE MOVED, THE 7 IS HIS.

Why can't he move? what is he currently doing that he couldn't do at 13 or 3?

That wpuld be such a Benji thing to do. Give Andrews continued reps in reserve grade while completely stifling Latu's development. Then when a chance comes he gives it to the new guy rather than the one that has done and played whatever the coach wants to his own detriment.

Latu & Javon looked like they'd been playing together for years last week in ressies. That's our future there. I like AD, and he has probably been our best this year. He doesn’t need to be at 7 to do what he does.

He isnt a 7. His leadership qualities are about wanting the moment, putting himself out there with the game on the line. Absolutely great qualities and they are very important to us. However his leadership in regards to organising, setting up his outside shape and delivering them space to flourish is poor. He absolutely should and needs to be moved because he cant provide some key elements a 7 needs to provide to have success. The guy is a 6 or like others have suggested a player that can roam from 3 or maybe 13. Terrific footballer, and that shows every week with his performances. Falls way short as a 7 though.

For 2027, he shouldnt move though. Its him and Jarome in the halves. Maybe we can reasses for 2028

How can he be a ball player as a centre? He requires the backrow, centres and wingers outside him.

You could make a case for 13, but he is our best player by far at the moment.. it would be so counter productive to move him imo

I said this a while back but Latu is going nowhere with his tackling technique. Until he fixes it he’s going to continue to get concussions and shoulder/neck injuries.

Jason is our long term 6, and our first choice 2026 spine was good enough in the first 8 rounds or so.

Team has just become really unfit as a whole after starting so well.
