Would like to Congratulate our boys for the massive improvement in our defence from last year and have played last year's Grand Finalists along the way.
You wouldn't believe who has the best defence in the Comp ? Dragons on 58 against then us on 73 with the Knights .

That's interesting considering the Dragons lost their first 2 games quite badly, they've done well to recover. And good on our guys too, it's a nice change to have a positive F/A for once after four rounds.

I like to see how we are turning up in defence to help each other. We need to see this as our standard for the year, however I am encouraged so far.

I thought Brooks defence yesterday was outstanding with him being pick out by their second rowers and he did not seem to miss any. ( not checked Stats)

I am keen to see us against the Warriors on Saturday to see if we can match their forwards

Also, while we are talking about positives, had Brooks kicked that field goal we'd be sitting clear in 2nd place.

This is the Mark of our New coach, Congrats Wests Tigers (Souths and Dogs games blew out in the last quarters)

I am glad we are no longer an easy game for opponents.

When the attack starts to click ( and we are very far off) we will be menace.

See New Thread.

Mostly the defence was set well. However We need some desperation at times. Lawerence made a good try saver. Lovett also was there a few times to stop Parra just as they looked like they were through.

Looking very solid in defence.

As much as it is maligned, the hang time kicks landing just inside the 20 are playing a big part of this.

i understand this tactic but wouldn't it be good to see Richards take some of these kicks for added height, with the torpedo style that swings away at the last moment?

difficult to have the winger taking a hit up, then run back and forth from the sideline to the middle to take kicks.

its also why he often doesnt take the kicks for touch unless it happened near his side.
