3, 2, 1 (Vs Dragons)

That was good, but too little, too late.
Brooks has spent his whole career turning the ball back inside …yesterday it would have worked and he continually went outside to backs who were running across field.
They chose to go left all game when our most experienced back 5 member was catching a cold out on the right.
The correct play yesterday was to capitalise upon the middle charges of Tamou, Musgrove and Joffa…have Liddle run it more (did he scoot at all?) and put our backrowers through gaps on the edges. Our pack played well yesterday but could have been used even more than they were. Our backs were overused.
Coach obviously sees points in our backline and wants to encourage that. A Tibetan monk would be scoring more than us. Our backs were simply outclassed by a more experienced , skilful backline. I’d rather we try than to play a predominately forward’s game like the previous bulldogs. They just need the repetition of execution during real game time. It’s frustrating to watch, I know, but they don’t get better by starving them of the ball.

If you lose a game where your forwards dominated and you were on top pretty much all game, your spine failed. They may have played ok individually, but they did not do their job today.

I agree. Brooks was our best player though. Hastings didn't do enough. Liddle just isn't the guy to cut teams apart. I think To'a is great but he isn't a creative ball player.

That game was a good argument that Brooks can't be the sole focus of your teams attack. We need more attacking options.

There is some merit to that, however this back 5 are likely to never play together again and as such I dont care about them getting better together in first grade. The aim is to win games of football and a forward dominated attack wins us that game yesterday. Putting bombs up for a bloke who has hands like feet at the best of times is tantamount to a hail mary. We did it over and over again. The most likely points in our backline yesterday was in the right corner. We did not explore this opportunity nearly enough.

-Musgrove turning into a good prop - love his aggression
-As per the same with Kelma - How we losing him .. disappointing
-Tamou & Offa have been fantastic the last few weeks

Simpkin, Laurie, and Doueihi would all be handy right now.

Don’t know if you noticed, but in the last quarter of the game our halves tired of trying to serve it up on a platter for the outside backs, preferring to have a go at the line themselves.
Pass it to Garner or gilfart. Inspiring options 🤢

very simple. Good teams have outside backs who create opportunities themselves. See Kotoni Staggs as exhibit A, B and C. Who is our X factor player outside our halves and Luci? You’ll be looking for a while………

Brooks must have thought there was a fit and healthy Ken Maumalo playing on the left wing on Sunday.

If he was it probably results in 2 tries.

Possibly Maumalo when he is fit and right in the head taking those high bombs close to or on the line.
