3-2-1 3 2 1 vs Knights

So looking at the posts, the new guys played well except for Luai.?
Luai directed things ok from behind the play the ball, at times he reminded me of cronk when he played busted in that chooks grand final win. Like a coach not a player.

When he touched it he was decisive, he should have touched it more though . No red flags other than too much trust....we need him to probably own it a bit more.

Effort in scramble and front line D very good.

3. May
2. Galvin
1. Skelton

Lots of upside despite result, 2 spine players to return, gutsy go forward in the pack, allowed quick counters, did not stop the 2nd phase enough, needed more constant support play but good to see some confidence that's been missing - lots to improve.
I was sorry the game finished - we were trying till the final whistle.
The Knights star players won enough moments where we didn't.

Our kicking game both short and long was poor - our kickers not striking the ball well. Galvin over did the kicking option. Needs to straighten up instead of running across field which seems to take away our attacking options and he then tries to grubber it.

3. May
2. Skelton
1. Turuva

May will be our best forward since Ellis. No one else comes close. As for the wingers. great ball runners that will get our sets off to starts we’ve never had. Turuva is only tiny, but God he’s a strong runner. And Skelton is a tackle busting machine. A Temu version of Brian To’o.

3. May. Minutes, metres no missed tackles
2. Twal see above, and a good offload for our only try (we will still see 100 posts this year saying "wow I've never seen twal pass")
1. Skelton had this until I saw 0 tackles and 3 missed. Yikes.

Sad truth...

First hit out with that halves combo.
Felt Luai was giving Galvin the ball when he shouldve been working things out himself.
I have been critical of Galvin, particularly running sideways way too often since early last season, but he wasn't guilty of that so much last night. What we did see though, was Luai simply shovelling to ball to him with the game on the line, instead of taking control and directing the team around him.

Let's get real here, there would be page upon page attacking Brooks in multiple threads for exactly that. Many just for the seven tackle set kick alone.

I managed to see only 20min of the game.
Do you think he may have been under coach’s instructions to be less assertive? To allow other players to show more leadership?
