3-2-1 3 2 1 vs Panthers [Round 14]

3 Luai
2 Latu
1 Mason

We have a top 8 side that will come home this season with a wet sail!
Not sure about that...
But the Broncos and Melb game aside, we haven't been smashed by any means.

We're competing well & holding our own.
Honestly think after this year and the core group playing a full season together, and weeding out some certain issues - 2026 we will be a serious problem within the NRL.

My dream of win, lose or draw, no matter the outcome, opponents will know they played the Tigers. Proper hitters!

If Penrith didn't have the bye next week, I'd be tipping against them cos we made em work hard yesterday!

There's some hard calls moving forward.

Latu is needed in the halves, he looks like a superstar.

So who's 14? Mason or TDS.

We need a strike centre in place of AD.
He doesn't offer much tbh.
Love the guy though but Taylan is a better option.
I agree with all you have written except Taylan May. There are a number of good centres at the Broncos. If cap constraints are correct, Deine Mariner would be perfect or the Titans' centre Jo Jo Fafita. Gagai also offers good value for a year.

Deine Mariner is 1 of my favourite players, outside of the Tigers.

I always felt he'd be impossible to get.
If he was an option, that would be an amazing recruit.

I keep suggesting Taylan because I really think it's a possibility and it could be a good redemption story [If he wants it bad enough and has really improved as a person]

Mariner is one of the best young centres I have watched in recent years, although the Mclean brothers from the Panthers are very good. Richardson and Marshall value family, values etc if you read the announcement of KPP's signing.

3. Laui
2. Toa
1. Latu

Hm to Douehi, May, Sukkar and the other 2 Fainu brothers, Skelton (although he was at fault for Panthers first try as he went to the wrong side on the scrum which you could only notice at the ground)

Mason obviously had a hard game and Seyfarth as much as I love his effort isn't at the level, Turuva unfortunate result to his day

Luai was horrible in the second half and cost us the game.
Api's defence live was unbelievable

3.Api
2.May
1.Bula
Re Laui's 2nd half: Take out the 2 penalties against him, he was still the teams main spark in attack

Defended like a trooper. 2 outstanding defensive plays locking down cleary as soon as he gets the ball before the panthers go on an a shift

He did make an error when we were attacking their line where he did that stop at the line and sideways running then throws an errant pass which the panthers end up with, but I think his energy in the 2nd half made the team as a whole more competitive

Can’t agree. His second half was awful.
He was largely frantic in attack rather than cool and composed.
He didn’t lead the team home once again.
He lost his head several times and despite the teeth gnashing on here, his two penalties were stupid and ultimately cost us the game.
When he played football yesterday he was great.
All the other bullshit in his game has to go.

For sure.

If we want to keep TDS, we have to pick him. But IMO, Heath is the better 14. Covers fullback, halves, hooker at a pinch and can free up Latu when he comes on. Would be a dynamic play off the bench.

I'd like to see AD replace Bird on the bench; and give him some time at lock. Really want to see him play there a bit, could make that his starting spot if he works hard at it. Suits his frame/skillset.

I was thinking about Taylan May recently. ... I reckon Richo is blocking it and probably for the right reasons.

Benji is a rookie coach. He isn't a Des, Ricky, Bellamy or Bennett.
Ricko knows that Benji struggled with Galvin... Now add Taylan in there, what happens?

One of the smartest moves the Sharks did was pair Craig F with Dale Finucane. Sure, Dale did nothing much on the field but his leadership and not causing trouble means the rookie coach had a better shot.

To my eyes he stood up in the second half, maybe abit to much which lead to the penalties. I don't think the penalties decided that game, I think the soft try at half time was the moment that should be considered.

I did see that he looked frantic but to be honest he was trying to create for his team with SFA for options.
He put douiehi in to open space multiple times in the second half and he made it look so pedestrian, put a capable center there and the plays would look alot better albeit even threatening as line breaks because they were 2 on 1 but panthers defense slid in time because Adam's so slow 😅

One man can't do it all but he tried to do what he could with what was around him. He definitely played better than Cleary yesterday

I think we're really building as a team

Skelton is a mighty player and will only get better.

Might not be "our year" but we're definitely heading the right direction.
Few tweaks of the roster and we'll be so strong.

Latu looked a class act playing 13.
I think he's the key.
Him and Luai will be a dangerous pairing.

Unfortunately I think AD is a weak link but could also answer our problems at lock. His lack of pace and agility really just stifles the attack.

This group CAN achieve a lot.
Yes - question is by when, and IF with the WT! ;-)

skelton needs points deducted for not being able to catch... bloke couldn't catch a cold
That can be trained out of him. Thankfully Bulla and Tito have hands as safe as anyone in the comp, To'a is pretty safe under a high ball but not quite as good as the other two I've mentioned.
