3-2-1 3-2-1 vs Storm Round 10

Agree the middles got owned but:
Doueihi's 'effort' in the first try was worse. He then followed the 2nd? by kicking off dead and made no attempt to help with any hard carries.
Luai did nothing positive at all, though hard to contribute behind a beaten pack. Yeah, Galvin was the one making terrible errors but again Luai failed to take control late in sets. A few times he would shift to Galvin on the last rather than take the responsibilty of ending the set himself.
I know the whole team was poor but those two were as poor as anyone.
Naden was literally in position to contest the ball. Doueihi was defending on the wing.

Naden was far worse. Doueihi arrived late. Naden was right there & just chose not to contest it.

Aside from that, Doueihi shut down a number of Storm attacks down his side. The same cannot be said for those on the other side of our defensive line.

Luai was involved. His kicking game was fine. The chasing game was awful. There was literally a kick in the second half where Luai put it up, got knocked over, Paps collects the ball runs to the right hand defensive side, Tigers are sitting & waving their arms at him, and Luai ends up running downfield & tackling Paps ahead of the rest of our defenders. If everyone put that effort in, even if we are off our game, we don't get 50 put on us.

Don't get me wrong. It wasn't a stellar stand out performance from anyone. But I would at least acknowledge guys not actively contributing to losing.

Bula was the only guy who looked like troubling the Storm defense.
As for the rest:
Sam F is struggling this season. Tito has some D issues. Naden and Staines should not be in the top 17. Ideally Seyfarth is coming off the bench.
We need more from Luai and from Api.
Our middles need to use their shoulders in D.

Doueihi arrived late because he was slow to make any effort to get there. He was defending wide because Naden was back for the kick.
Pap put his first kick through bringing Naden up. Doueihi turns and casually jogs, not sprinting to get behind or to the now loose ball.
Paps then kicks off the ground. Paps needs to then get past Fainu who should have put a body in his way.
He then needs to pass Naden who had to turn and chase with his momentum still coming forward but at least he did put a body in front of Paps but the time it took to turn and accelerate Paps was about to pass him. Doueihi however was already tracking towards the ball. If he made the effort first time round he would have easily been first to the ball. He did speed up after seeing the threat but also pulls up early rather than throw his body into the contest.
I also dont really recall him shutting down any Melbourne attacking threats, (though i acknowledge the other side certainly failed to do so) so i looked up his stats. He only made the 5 tackles, so either they were 5 telling tackles or simply Melbourne were just sending their attack their other way.

I don't really disagree with what you have said regarding Luai. I just think as a 7, particularly a high priced one, he should be the dominant ball user. Even more with all the shit surrounding Galvin recently. Yet he still didnt demand the ball anymore than Galvin and often passed off to him the few times we were in attacking positions.

This is fair. Luai had a go. Staines is like a bug hitting a windscreen.

Thought May tried hard as well, but boy he looked tired, think we need to manage his minutes a bit better.
100%! It's only round 10, not even half way. At this rate, even the fittest person in all sports will struggle on form. I've mentioned to my circle of footy fans, that the Tigers need to give, probably even force him, to have more rests. He'll be burnt out towards the end of the season or even cut his career shorter than he expects.

3 Alex Seyfarth. Class player, good defence, lots of metres gained. Should be re-signed to a marquee contract.
2 Charlie Staines. Good physicality, good decision making in defence, perfect edge play.
1 Lachlan Galvin. Lots of good touches, lots of good work in defence. Think his combo with Staines and Seyfarth should be pursued with into the future. We will see the fruits of this in coming weeks.
Have you lost the plot ? Or just drunk like me ?
Seyfarth was rubbish, king of giving away six mores and penalties. Gets owned most games with zero go forward. He was gassed today.
I was angry with the team today but he was the reason why I was mad most

Interesting how you are angriest with the player who made the most tackles for us today. He did not play great but he definately was not the reason we were flogged so bady
