3-2-1 3, 2, 1 vs the donkeys

Felt AD was still carrying the injury,
Hence why he wasn't kicking, at first.

He looked reserved out there.
Surprised he's getting a mention.
Not his best.
I thought he came up with big plays on several occasions.
The Turuva try was him. His work in that was excellent.
He came up with big defensive plays keeping Staggs contained and forcing errors.
He played 2 positions and played both well with a nice try assist at half.
His stats weren’t top shelf but what he did do mattered.

Yeah i thought he looked a bit casual
...wont say
'disinterested'....but i could also see in him a bit what jolls going on about effort or lack of once or twice...

It’s why I think he had what I think a great game. Didn’t overplay his hand. Played his role and injected himself as needed.

Interesting a lot of people have Galvin very high. What do people who rate his game think of his organisation and pass selection? His attacking kicks were very good, but I think he had a lot of bad moments and we looked choppy and messy without luai, and I don't feel that was latu's fault. Seems doueihi managed to settle him down a bit when he went into the halves and Galvin started to play a simpler game. I'd like to see that more going forward. It's when he is direct and speedy that he creates for us, when he switches direction it tends to often end quite messy.

Mine are:

3. May (just about every week, he's so impressive)
2. Turuva (strong running and mostly smart play)
1. Doueihi (big improvement defensively this year, much clearer in his attack)

Edit: I forgot to include bird. Has to be there so I'll kick doueihi out of top 3.
I think it was galvin's best game of the year

3 - Douiehi
2 - Sukkar
1 - May

I’d like to see AD do some more play making as an option especially near the line.
Really impressed with Sukkar. Great defensive effort and made some telling one on one tackles and ran the ball strongly - hope he continues his development.
Terrell - just rinse and repeat! Best buy of the season
Were you having a coffee when Sukkar dropped off a tackle to lose the game?

3 - May
2 - Bird
1 - Gal
May put in his usual big effort
Bird tried hard all game
Gal had a solid game
Latu was solid also , more game time and he improves big time , it’s in him .
Leave the Kid on the wing , Turuva to centre , Skelton on wing.
Need to buy more quality still ,
Big minutes prop
Solid hard running back rower
Speedy centre

We desperately need another backrower. You just can't win games against quality opposition carrying players like Sukkar and Seyfarth who will ALWAYS fail in the big moments that determine games.

Whatever it takes to keep Galvin as Fainu will never be an equivalent replacement.

Interesting you should say that about Galvin. His running game is becoming more predictable, similar to Flanagan’s a very readable dummy then 3 steps then tackled. Too many options going through his head maybe? Benji must have told him take an attacking kick early in the count if you see it, and that worked well for him.
I expect he’ll be more relaxed when Luai returns?

He's been good this season. Much better defensively. Must be still hampered by the groin as he wasn't heavily involved. I thought he stepped up later in the game after the reshuffle & was more involved. Can be a dangerous runner & ball player. Touch of class putting Toa over.

I prefer Galvin to play straight at the line and not drift so much even if it means an extra metre wider

Not sure about 3,2,1 but Luke Laulilii deserves a big wrapped. Played very well for his first hit out of NRL for the season. Only played 1 reserve grade game this season..

Sione Fainu also doesn’t get enough wraps for what he brings. He’s been great every minute he’s played this year and is a massive threat close to the line. His footwork is up there with some of the best.

Agree, he needs to run to a gap in the line regardless of how small it is. This will encourage other runners when they see 2 or 3 jamming in on him.
He’s tall enough to get offloading opportunities which will encourage other runners.
I watched the game this morning and listened to the panel’s recap. They spoke a lot about Tim Sheens as an example of coaching to utilise individual skills in different players, which Sheens had a reputation for. I couldn’t help but wonder how Sheens would have developed Galvin’s skills to enhance team performance?

Yep .it's all work in progress for our attack .don't think we have seen the best of it yet .our back line hasn't had a great deal of games together aswell .then u consider how many first grade games Galvin, fainu and bula have played .I still think we will when a lot more games this year

Yes, there was a lot to like about the teams performance, particularly the first half. Broncos halves pretty much decided the outcome. We had a few teenagers with a lot of courage which brought tears of joy rolling down Hodgo’s cheeks 16 min before full time.

Like you .I always watch the game again the next day .it takes the emotion out of watching the game live ,u can then take a proper analysis of the game aswell.i think the positives out weigh the negatives this year .another couple of seasoned recruits we will definitely be a force

I think 2 things about Douehi
First he is a footy player full of footy smarts a clever dude
Second I think he is carrying a suspect groin by the way he very carefully gets to his feet when tackled .Its like he's trying to protect it .
Not ideal but he's a talented footballer
