The bloke with 5 try assists doesn’t get a point?

Has to learn to tackle. There are no excuses for missing first up contact. Brooks had three try assists today and played beautifully, although you wouldn't know it on this forum.

Brooks had 0 try assist today, he did well at giving the ball to Doueihi though

Gee, the two times he straightened the attack to set up the tries must not be worth much. He had a blinder today.

Like I said, he did well at setting up Doueihi but his kicking was average. Doueihi was controlling our attack

True , brooks gout zero try assists , but how many tries did he directly assist ? I count at least 3. AD was best on ground though.

He laid real good ball on for Laurie , abs the centre’s . Much improved from the start of the year, in regards to ball playing.

There is no doubt it’s Doueihi’s team

I’ve given Brooks a lot of credit the past month but IMO he was fairly quiet tonight. I thought AD was exceptional. We wouldn’t have won without him.

I think Brooks did what he needed shift the ball to AD and it was great to see AD use his outside man. AD defense needs alot of work, keeping in mind this is his first year in the front line on NRL - if he can sort that out he is going to be one heck of a good footy player.

Anywho my 321

I thought Brooks was fine, not bagging his game at all. But AD was running our attack and was the best player on the park pretty easily imo.

I like Brooks but Doueihi is clearly the guy you want to have the ball in his hands.

Exact;y. I like Brooks but he is not the guy you want to have the ball with the game on the line. Give it to Douiehi and I'm good with the result.

AD wasn't running the attack, he was doing a great job of taking on the line and passing both inside and outside on usually set plays, but Brooks is running the attack.

3 The Ute
2 The Lorrie
1 The Doo Doo

It was frightening to see the brittle D on the left. But for once we got the bounce of the ball - Broncs made so many mistakes they looked like us at times!

Mikaele, Ute & Tamou Mids went well and will get better.
Mbye's dummy-half service was ordinary.
Tuki did OK and will be awesome with more experience.
Pauga tried hard looks quick but was not so great in D - so he's a keeper for now.
Mamalo must have got a red hot poker up his rear cos he was much better in the 2nd half and that leap and pass for the Pauga try was top shelf.
Talau looked much more comfortable on the right-hand side and that step was classy.
Nofo was busy and try-scoring isn't his problem The D on the right was the best all year.
Brooks was sold and his D is tough. Plus he knows how to get an obstruction penalty!
Lucy was good and noticeable that the gaffer tape was not on his left leg
Joffa was good and took some heavy hitting from the old team mates
Liddle was OK but ...
Twal was tidy.

Ah ... what ? He was NOT running out attack mate . If you watched the 9 telecast , Lockyer pointed out , how brooks engaging the line and controlling the attack via what the centre did , ie. turning inwards , or not , created the space on the edge .
AD did really well with this space .
But the attack was ? being controlled from either side of the ruck.

AD was best on ground . But that game right there , is what any coach would want from thier half . Borderline textbook .

Try assist is a flawed stat

Always credited to the man with the final pass but discredits the work done by the inside men

Nonetheless, Brooks and Doueihi is easily our best fit for the halves…there is absolutely no way Mbye has a hand in those same 5 tries

Mentions for:
- Doueihi. Very good in attack, not so good in defence
- Luci
- Twal

Naughty corner: Garner and Mbye. Someone needs to stop feeding them sleeping pills before the game.

Exactly my thoughts... would be nice to give Stefano all the points but it's a team sport.
