4 Teams battling for 3 spots

I think based on tonights results, There are 9 teams left to fit into 8, With one of either Sharks, Raiders, Tigers and Broncos battling it out. At least now its more clear ( well sort of). So 4 teams battling for 3 spots I think thats one way of putting it… Moreso, it's really 3 teams battling it out for 2 spots (7th and 8th)

Sharkies are basically home, but still possible to miss out.

Right now The Broncos look the most vulnerable slightly followed by The Tigers...

However, whilst the Panthers are playing decent, The fact it's in Queensland and with a desperate Broncos I can see the Broncos winning..... This will most likely give them a positive + 30 and could even end up around + 40

I can't see us beating the Roosters by more then 30 points... I think it will be hard just to win... Thus We will fall short to Broncos on for and against. I'd say we would need to beat the Roosters by 40 Points or more to give us a shot of making the 8 on 28 points.

The other way to get us in by 1 more win is for Raiders to Lose against Warriors next week.. Not likely But who knows and being they have inferior for and against, this would allow us in the 8 thus not having the problem with broncos having a good + points differential. Maybe this is a better hope then Broncos losing, But The Warriors are awful!

Sadly based on all this, I do think we will NEED to beat The Storm also to make the Finals... It will take "a lot" to go our way to get in the finals on 28 points...I just can't see all those bits falling into place. Of course IF we do both games, I feel we would have deserved to make the 8 and who knows maybe make a charge for the title.

But of course, Its all about tomorrow and just getting the Win against the Roosters and If we can really turn it on, then score as many points as possible to give us more + points differential

we will lose tomorrow

then Broncos will win Friday night to get in then…....... it all comes down to beating storm knowing our luck we will win by 1 point then the faiders will score 40 on the warriors and get in on F and A.

Penrith always test Brisbane in Brisbane

Broncos got some more injuries as well Parker and there halves couldn't break wind imo

Warriors and Raiders are along with us the Jeckyll and Hydes teams in the comp amd if the Raiders play like they have from time to time and same goes for the Warriors They show up and they could put 40 on Canberra

Comes down to this , we are still the masters of our destiny Win both games and more than likely 7th

Lose one and it is in the hands of the football gods

Lose both and least we don't have to worry about Rob Lui on Monday the 3rd

Sharks at worst can come 8th, broncos cant overtake them.

If either the broncos or the raiders lose next week we will get through with one win.

If They both win we need to win both.

We wont overtake brisbane on differencial.

That sums it up, no if threads are needed.

Thats right Dan, Its easy to get confused.. Sharks are indeed guaranteed at least 8th spot.

Regardless of what happens, being in a position where you need to rely on other teams losing just to finish in the top half of the competition is a failure especially with the roster we have.

Yeah, it's really 3 into 2\. I expect we'll win tomorrow. Too much quality across the park and so long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot with silly mistakes and penalties (which the roosters are synonymous for this season), we should be alright. If we play disciplined football i don't see how we'll lose. Now assuming we do win the pressure is then on all 3 sides, us, Canberra and Brisbane to perform next week. We'll have the toughest game of the round but at least we're at Leichhardt.

The Raiders have to fly to Auckland which is a tough trip, even if the Warriors are out of form. Brisbane for me are as good as in. It would be some upset if they lost up there on a friday night. None of this is relevant though unless we win tomorrow. Let's worry about that first.

I hate this ''relying on other teams''…it feels undeserving, and not earnt.
You earn rewards, falling in cause someone else falls over is pure luck and not due to anything done thru the year

my gut feeling without Farah it will be all over red rover tomorrow. We always struggle against the chooks and tomorrow will be no different.

At least if we do go belly up again you would imagine the board will be asking some questions

Yeah agree We have been the masters of our destiny since Round 1 and a team with so much supposed talent shouldn't be in this position to start with

But we are and I like the rest of us are hoping we can find some way of making it to Week 1 of Semis and hopefully with a near full strength squad we mount some sort of a challenge

I can't see anyone beating Manly though The only thing that might beat Manly is injuries
