The predictors have a bias towards higher points, cause we usally assume the best team wins, and as we know, upsets happen every round.
I haven't check this,so i could be wrong, but heard only once in 10 years has a team got 28 points and missed out on the 8.

we've versed every side once this year right? i think dogs are the only ones we havent..

looking back, we have had a very good draw this year… except cowboys and bulldogs, we only verse each side in the top 8 once.

we versed melbourne without their origin stars, sharks was a dodgy win. apart from cowboys we havent really been anyway near our best against ANY top 8 side. luck has srsly been with us so far this year, hopefully it doesnt come back to bite us later

there was a seasons quite a few years ago where 25 got you in….. and we STILL missed out - then in 2009 we had 28 points, and missed out because of a drawn result which made 29 the cutoff.

suffice to say 5 from 9 (30 points) should guarantee it.

oh wow, missed that one - the one with 25 was canberra from a couple of years back again - 2002 or 2003.

I remember that season now - A 2nd last Newcastle beat us with a penalty goal right on the bell to keep us out of the finals?

I don't think anyone knows how many wins the Tigers will get for the remander of the season …Newcastle had trouble beating themselves so maybe we should ponder if the Tigers can win any games ...Newcastle isn't that memory still fresh!

I got no doubt we'll win at least 4 games heading into the playoffs. Wether that will be enough remains to be seen. It isn't unusual for 8th place to qualify on 30 points

if we dont make the 8 considering the draw we have, the luck we've gotten and the squad, i will be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.. atm we are in 8th spot and quite possible the loss on friday will kick us out.

as someone pointed out.. if we go into the top 8 with 28 points…. well we're more than likely to get kicked out first week.. i just cant digest how bad we've played this year

At the moment you'd have to say we dont look like winning any of our remaining matches, but we all know better than that. Too many twists and turns players returning from injuries ect to predict anything for mine. Ill certainly be strapping myself in for a ride and a half for the remaining 9.

2007 was lower because there was only 1 bye that year, meaning a 12-12 record would only give you 26 points, rather than 28.
