$50 Million reason Wests Tigers are prepared to quit Campbelltown.

I get where you are coming from Telltails.

But embracing C'town isn't about abandoning an existing fan base.
It's about deepening connection with a region that's home to a huge slice of Western Sydney's growth.

You say we're "fixated" on C'town...fair enough, but maybe that fixation reflects what's overdue...proper investment, long term strategy, and cultural grounding.

We can't just rely on imported success from other clubs like Melb. or Roosters who have their own paths'

Our future needs to be built on genuine roots.
Flying in once a month and calling it "home" won't cut it.
C'town deserves more than symbolic support...it deserves infrastructure, pathways, and a meaningful presence.

The issue isn't replacing one area with another.
It's about evolving responsibly and giving Western Sydney a team that feels like it actually belongs.
The inner west that has genuine roots and connection to the club is less deserving of the same?
The club even in its bad times brings so much to inner west and is embraced by fans on game days that have stuck solid.witb no evidence of that diminishing.
If there was no supporter base in the inner west I would be philosophical about it, but the club has great support and unless they are gifted some wiz bang stadium at Campbelltown the likes of CommBank - I'm just not sold on it being anymore important to the viability of club than the inner west. Just my opinion and aware that it is not shared by some.

Dont disagree. In the end dont we have to be ending up with 1 x home ground, not 2? I have seen nothing getting us to there. I dont see $$$ being spent on both Leichhardt and Campbelltown as being useful to that long term goal. At some stage we have to bite the bullet and decide, then channel $$$ towards that.

I'm an old Balmain fan and think the inner west is very important however, I do believe a big part of the clubs future is Campbelltown, it's our point of difference. Unlike the inner west, Campbelltown and beyond is only Wests Tigers.

Having said that, the magpies and Wests Tigers have been banging on about this for the past 40 odd years and not much has come from it. Why?

The growth concept has either been overblown or we can't manage it (It is Wests after all, only joking), I'd say a bit of both.

So, wouldn't HGB and/or Ashfield need to take a fair bit of responsibility from the first day the idea of Cambo proposed?

Yeah I agree but can HBG deliver this, hasn't Ashfield been somewhat reluctant to support Cambo..............'hello' you are the ones who first wanted to go there.

Its like they want to eat their own, you have ask yourself, does HBG have a future plan?

I don't think they do and I don't think they plan on having a plan either.

Richo is solely responsible for it all it seems.

HBG cares about the Wests Club there and that's about it.

As for WT and the Southwest, Richo seems like he wants to create an Academy somewhere around South West. Most of our juniors are coming from there and obviously travelling every week for training and all, you need to stay local.

If we don't put an academy there, Gus is ready to swoop on to Liverpool or somewhere close to attract rep players from the dozens of clubs there.

For the academy, you need coaches, equipment, facilities etc which costs money which we don't have. You got Penrith expanding east out of St Mary, Parra moving south from Greystanes area and Bulldogs moving Westwards. If we don't give these juniors a proper facility, instead of losing them at 20 when they reach first grade, we will lose them at Schoolboys.

Have HBG actually said they’re not interested in supporting Cambo? I can’t believe it.

If this is the case, it’s fair to say we are going to struggle even more than now (Yeah sounds ridiculous) so HBG needs to be held to account.

What in gods name are they thinking?

Is their anyone on here actually know if they have said they’re not supporting Cambo? And if so, to what extent?

My understanding is HBG cares about the existing Leagues Club. I'm sure they want WT to do great things bu they aren't going to be investing in it or helping it out other than at the Board level.

Richo is mostly autonomous in doing whatever he wants for WT, but with limited money. I know there are HBG members and NRL independents etc on the Board but I have a feeling they've appointed Richo to manage everything while being kept in the loop.
