6 Reasons Why NSW NEED Farah...

Robbie could be Lebanon's greatest ever #9, unless Benny came back!! That would be a great battle!
For the nuff-nuffs, also tongue in cheek.

I agree with trevor and hes obviously correct.

Maybe he would be a better chance of making the team if he ever used his shoulder in a tackle. Every tackle he makes, he gets moved backwards. Other teams get on a roll, cause they run at him. Obviously this isnt what the NSW selectors want

.

This is robbie's biggest concern imo. I've been told a few times by fans of other clubs who all admire his attacking skills but aren't convinced he does the job defensively. It's one thing to make 40 tackles in game but when you analyse those tackles there are flaws in the technique. Thankfully they are correctable but i'm yet to see it. Is it what's held him out of origin? Not completely but it keeps the door open for hacks like Ennis.

That would be a fine argument if Ennis was a quality defender. But he isn't. His missed tackle rate is horrendous.

I personally think it's simply that the current selectors/coach didn't want an attacking hooker. They wanted someone solid and no-frills. They were happy to leave the kicking and flair to the halves. Unf it was proven that the halves could not generate that in the past two series. Ennis doesn't really do anything wrong, but he's no better an option than half the other NSW hookers in the comp.

Defensivly Robbie is a Gun. His technique is sound and its more than a third man flop to get his numbers up (D Stagg style)

According to NRL.com.au Robbie comes in at #5 - . He will get his chance.

Player Team
698 David Stagg Bulldogs
629 Nathan Hindmarsh Eels
625 Nathan Friend Titans
575 Matt Ballin Sea Eagles
525 Robbie Farah Wests Tigers

Garbage spartan….he is a hitchhiker...often - but not always - getting a ride 5 metres up field on the back of or under opposition attackers

Ditch the goggles, open your eyes

Hopefully it is an area Robbie will work on in the off season.

His action is actually effective when in tandem as he really ties the ball up but if isolated Ink is right in that he gets carried. He is smart in trying to stop the offload but if he were able to do that and also pivot at the hip to bring players down he would be better again.

It all comes down to time and experience

If he is isolated then go for the ball, came of quite well against Canberra, but that play also illustrates Innk's point pretty strongly.

at least he hits and sticks….did you miss ennis's effort on shillington lastnight?

Not always…..his first tackle i think it was last week was abysmal, the week before a winger brushed him....he is not perfect as most here seem to think he is
His D really could use some work

my point is that he puts his body in the face of the opposition all the time….he does get driven back but he rarely drops off a tackle...like his try saver last friday for example

He is better than Ennis but there is room for real improvement. Robbie would even admit that. He is ultra competitive and will work on this over the coming months no doubt. His elbow injury surely still sits in the back of his mind as well though

Agreed. I've heard this is the main reason he is not selected. Ennis misses more tackles but the ones he does make are more effective. I.e. Ennis' tackles results in slower play the balls whereas when Robbie makes a tackle the opposition get a quick move on. In saying that, I hate Ennis!

Isn't that a stupid argument? I'd rather a bloke make most of his tackles than miss a bunch of them, no matter how good his hits are.
