Just a thought & prayer if you maybe that way inclined for all the twin tower jumpers.
Did they display courage and bravery? Yes they sure did.
The Falling Man still haunts me to this day - the black waiter from the top floor restaurant suspended in the air head first.

I guess its different for me - I saw the attacks - it never goes away.
And Mohammed Atta sticks in the forefront of my mind this day every year. The first terrorist pilot.

I was bored and switching through the channels on cable that night, seeing the first pictures put up on CNN. So apart from the the initial plane hitting, I watched it all unfold whilst giving the remote a workout.

Sadly, I think that there is a lot more to that day than meets the eye.

So does my Pakistani friend fresh from Pakistan.

I feel sorry for all the people who lost their lives that day

It disappoints me that Australians , place a higher value on the lives of Americans then the lives of people from other countries

So true, i was watching the ABC News coverage of the Boston Bombings, a very sad incident. But what struck me was that they'd stopped all news coverage for the event and towards the bottom it said, Death toll 2: Injury toll 77 (can't remember exact numbers) and then JUST below that in the little bar at the bombing it had a small little 5 words, "Bomb in Middle East Kills Several Hundred."

Found that extremely insensitive, placing the lives of 2 AMERICANS in such high regard compared to the lives of several hundred middle easterners.

Not trying to start a massive debate, just my opinion.

Yeah I agree with you guys. The uneven value placed on human lives has always bothered me. I wonder if anyone remembers that over 20,000 Indians were killed in an earthquake in the same year as 9/11? Probably not.

It's mostly because of Australia's close cultural connection with the US. I don't agree with it, but disasters that are seen to be 'closer to home' are often treated as worse.

That being said, I never like comparing tragedies, regardless of the effects of them. I think it does nothing but devalue the pain that people have felt because of these events.

When a bomb kills a handful of Americans it's terrorism, when a US missile kills 50 women and children in the Middle East it's called foreign policy.
