9/11 non-conspiracy

You watch YouTube way too much Alien.

I watched a documentary about the 9/11 attacks the other day, and I was appalled at it. It seemed to be produced in a way to stir up US patriotism ahead of the anniversary (despite that it was shown in Australia, I'm almost certain it was syndicated here.)

Crap like that cheapens the tragedy of the event and what those victims and their families lost and/or suffered. If I was a victim I would be deeply insulted.

why would you find it insulting? its just a video of the guy who owned the would trade centre buildings saying that they pulled building 7

Be that as it may, I'll go with the official reports. The guy in that clip (Larry Silverstein) has said he did not mean to suggest the building was demolished by choice. In any case the National Institute of Standards and Technology says it fell down due to fire as well. I know there is a tendency out there to think "the government" are telling lies but the amount of public servants needed to produce reports like this would be mind boggling.

Anyway it probably won't convince you but here is what the NIST said about WT7:

The guy, Larry Silverstein has clarified that he was talking about a conversation he had with the NYFD and that the last reference to pull was to get the firefighters from the building. The overwhelming weight of evidence says WT7 collapsed due to structural damage and fire.

Saw a story on ABC on the Sunday just passed and they asked spoke to five different people that were involved with 9/11 One was a fireman who had just arrived as the WT7 fell .
He said it began to slowly lean over and then collapsed upon itself
Very tragic show to watch how there lives unfolded year after year and how their emotions changed

On that note Happy I was watching something on Foxtel that had a whole bunch of audio from firemen in the buildings (the main two) speaking on 2-way with other firemen and the controller. Some of them were high enough to be fighting fires or discuss strategies. Terrible to realise how many of them died doing their job.

just put yourself in the shoes of someone hanging out the window on the 90th floor and jumping, or imagining what it would have been like to have been in the towers when they collapsed. You can't even begin to comprehend anything like it

how about the conspiracy theories with flight 93? some think it was shot down because the passengers found out the truth, others believe the plane landed

yeah it could have meant that. its also a term that is used when they take buldings down with explosives. thanks for the links. if the official story about building 7 is true then they knew it was going to collapse because there are videos of people telling others to stay away from the building because "it's going to blow up" & "it's going to come down". the fire fighters or whatever must have told people and the media must have heard about it because they knew it was going to collapse. they were saying things on tv like "its about to come down" and then shortly after it did. it was like they knew when it was going to happen. some tv reporters said it already did collapse before it actually did.

some people on the ground thought gunshots were going off but it was the sound off the people who fell from the towers hitting the ground. thats how loud it was

I think after the main 2 towers came down everyone was on edge. There is footage of reporters saying all sorts of incorrect things. Pull it has a meaning in demolition but a very specific one (not blowing or imploding but actually pulling down walls) and the owner is not involved in demolitions. Some of this stuff looks a bit fishy but I guess you need to consider the logistics.

Would anyone have time to plant explosives to do this? Those things take a lot longer than a day to prepare especially given the conditions they were working under. Plus despite it being a very busy part of NYC nobody saw this nor has anyone in the industry come forward and said they did this.

Secondly Silverstein actually had a lease saying he continued paying rent after the collapse. And he had to pay to rebuild. Makes no sense for him to want the building down.

I just hope that something like this never occurs again.
let alone here in Australia.

incidents like 9/11 make you think about where you live and its cities

one thing does concern me a bit, is the Sydney harbour tunnel.

if this was to be ruptured, how is any one going to be able to stop the flow of water into it, or out from it?

Some people think the Earth is flat… The plane landing thing was an error made by a single broadcaster. There is no real dispute that United 93 was hijacked and that it subsequently crashed in Pennsylvania. A former work colleague of my mother was on this flight - I think (and I'm talking in general not having a go at you) people need to remember that real people died in these things.

i'm just bringing up the conspiracies that exsist out there, i'm not saying i support them

Yeah mate I appreciate that. That's why I was trying to be careful to clarify my comments were directed at the people who promote/originate that sort of stuff. It's easy to talk about abstract comments but when you're talking about people getting killed it starts getting a little sick.

Why is it disrespectful to question the events of what happened and why it took place with regards to Flight 93? Whatever happened, no-one is denying they were murdered unjustly?

Before I am attacked, I am playing devils advocate here although I feel the question I am asking is just.

What part of Flight 93 are you questioning? I see no problem with raising questions - that's perfectly legitimate - but I think it starts getting a bit iffy when it gets suggested that the whole thing never happened…

Definitely not questioning whether it happened or not. **It certainly did, to deny this is silly.**

I've mentioned my concerns surrounding the whole day already and that is that there seems to be a few points of interest on the day which don't sit well with me, or make sense. With respect to 93, the remains of the plane are strange for a plane which crashed in a field, why is this?

But my biggest issue is the fact we constantly use the event to install a fear in people and justify meaningless wars and division.

I want to know why 9/11 happened?
Why was America 'attacked'?

Instead we just seek revenge, which does NOTHING to prevent such events from happening again or to us growing as one people!
