Puts the whole thing into perspective when you see that gorgeous little boy so happy and i think the Tigers had a big incentive to win today and his name was Lleyton.. Bless him and his family and it goes to show that with all the negative headlines that we read about RL, there is a lot of good done as well.

I am not sure if anyone heard it but at the end of the game Ray Hadley was lost for words and his voice was quivering when he was trying to relay to us the listeners as to what Benji and the team were doing for this little boy… I can tell you it put the whole win into perspective and i was more excited that Lleyton got his wish rather then the tigers getting a win as they can win a game any week of any year but Lleyton wont be in the crowd to witness that and today will be something those players will cherish forever to think they played such a special chapter in his life.

It'a a cruel world sometimes.......

That was pure class…the win was great but it only mattered in the end because it made this brave kid's day.
I know I gave my kids an extra hug last night, if that's the highlight of the season then that's good enough for me. 30 ops in 4 years facing a terminal disease and still can have a smile on his face...that's the bravest person out there yesterday.

Shows what is important in life. Nothing can compare to the pain of losing a child which I unfortunately know about, and it's amazing who comes out of the woodwork to give you their shoulder to lean on. You really do find out people's true quality.
I love the Tigers, seeing Benji treat that little champion like a king, and for the rest of the guys to give him a guard of honour, well it has been the highlight of the season for me. Forget the football, the wins and losses, seeing that lad with a smile on his face is what it's all about.

Absolutely brilliant by the west tigers. A HUGE WELL DONE to all involved on bringing that little boy a day of joy. My prayers and thoughts go out to him and his family. Never have a been more Proud to call myself a tigers fan.

What I witnessed at yesterday’s game is something that will stay with me the rest of my life and has put the importance of a game of football into real perspective.

As a father of four wonderful kids and the husband of a fantasticly understanding wife seeing little Lleyton Giles on Benji's shoulders and seeing him lead the team off after a guard of honour from the boys had the most profound effect on me. To hear that this little boy has just weeks left just makes the importance we put in the winning or losing a game of football so insignificant.

At the same time what it has installed and cemented in my mind is the importance of football in community and an outlet and escape from the horrors in the world, a place to get away. For 80 minutes yesterday and the time little Leyton spent with the team last week he was the luckiest and most important kid in the world and was able thanks to a group of footballers, just kids themselves bagged at the drop of a hat, or ball welcomed into their world and made one of their own. A moment he will take with him and that no one can ever take away.

From now on every game my family and I go to will be in honour of the games this little star cannot.

Yes ….... you have summed it up perfectly Suze. Its always hard to know why people so young have to suffer ...... its one of lifes great mysteries I suppose. I think most of us will remember this gesture probably moreso than the actual game in years to come.

It makes you proud to be a Wests Tigers fan doesn't it.
