Aaron Woods - Signs with Bulldogs 2018 - Sharks 2018 [Official]..

When Woods says he wanted certainty on who the coach was long term and that he wasn't spoken to about it for 3 weeks what he is really saying is he wanted the Tigers to sign Todd Payten as head coach so that the "boys club" was still running the club!

Obviously once he knew it was Cleary taking over, that was the writing on the wall that the players were no longer going to be calling the shots and he wasn't happy with that.

We have a winner, the media just won't or can't see it

I agree mate, and have said something similar in an earlier thread. It's clear to me that Moses, Teddy and Woods wanted Payten and only Payten to be appointed as coach. We have dodged a massive bullet regardless.

Couldn't agree more, Payten would have just been more of the same we have had for years.

I see this everywhere, and maybe I'm completely blind - how has Woods 'betrayed' WT? If it's because he's leaving for another club, then does that mean every player who leaves a club is betraying them?

Go read some of the posts on the forum. You will see no one is having a go at him for leaving per se. Its how he has conducted himself and badmouthed the club. You okay with a captain bad mouthing his club?

If nobody from the club even spoke to him for 3 weeks between Taylor being sacked & Cleary being appointed, and it wouldn't surprise me given what I've heard, then they deserve a bad mouthing.

I'm lost as to how easily people are buying into the Pascoe & Go spin. At what other club would the CEO & Chair be praised after sacking a coach three weeks into a season, one they'd backed over a club legend 6 months prior, whilst also losing the four best players in the club? We may all want to deny it, but it's true - WE ARE A BASKETCASE!

Every other club and everyone else in the game laughs at us & the way we're run. It's just embarrassing. Did you see Bulldogs fans booing Steve Price when he left in 2004?

Disagree with your statements ….. and Agree with the approach the Board, CEO and the new Coach has taken in regards to this matter.

The NRL appointed board has been in operation for couple of years and they have worked with limited resources to get our cap problems in order.

Yes they backed a wrong horse and relied on the success and loyalty of their young juniors over players they let go. With unfortunate result and lack of loyalty shown by them this year.

Yes Taylor was a wrong appointment but what criticism would be levelled at the Board by the media if they sacked Taylor and supported Farrah during last year's drama.

More recently when the Wests Group took majority seating around the Board table and committed solid funding for the football club things have also inproved with new admin and football club appointments and the new coach.

What has happen in regards to the players who are leaving is their own doing and that of their manager who does not carry much respect amongs club administrators. Their actions has been disgraceful. They and sections of the spiteful media that support them should hang their heads in shame. :sign:

Questionable interview.
I think it all doesnt add up.

Is woods trying to shift blame ?
Hes leaving the club, why?
The club didnt support him.
They asked people not to boo him.

Hes a deadset joker and a snake.
I honestly wish him the worst.

The deepest circle of hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers.

This is the type of attitude that I love. Well played son.

“It was one of the hardest decisions of my life,” Woods says.
>
“I’ve come to terms with it now. If you had have asked me at the start of the year, I would’ve said ‘mate, I’ll be a one club player at the Wests Tigers’.
>
“I’ve never looked at any other club. I’ve always wanted to be a Wests Tigers player, I’m a local junior.
>
“But things happen and things out of my control happened. I had to go and make a decision that was best for myself.”

oh please, you had months MONTHS to sign the contract prior to JT's departure, so don't go trying to point the finger there.

At the start of the year you still hadn't signed the damn contract and yet we expect to believe you when you say you would have been a one club player? yeah right.

Exactly, surely he doesn't believe he is fooling anyone. If that's how you felt then why not sign. At the start of this I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but now he has treated the fans like a joke he can jog on

Did he do the interview with a girly hair piece in?

Aaron Woods is a dog. I could name 50 people who are close to him….he is a dog.

Im confused by this post mate. Are you saying you know a lot of people who know him and they support your view that he is a dog?

My only experience with him is how he presents himself through the media and one other incident where he told a good mate of mine that he didnt rate Brooks and Moses.

Yes the douche bag was wearing his
Hannah Montanna head band , looked like an ugly leso.

Not a good look to rubbish your current employer before you leave. I said he would do this on Fox to justify his decision. No issue with him leaving to a more successful club but he can't be captain any longer. He will be out for a few weeks and then origin which, he is lucky to be in the good books because there are better props than him running around.

I went to the Wests Magpies reunion night a few weeks ago. There were a lot of old first grade players there. The thing that was common to them was their love of their old club. Players attending included Noel Kelly, Tommy, John Dorahy, John Elford etc etc. Some of them left Wests to play for other clubs but their heart was always at Wests.
Dorahy told me that when he went to Manly he was on $12k at Wests. Manly offered him $30k and he went back to Wests and said he'd stay for $16k. Poor old Wests just couldn't afford it at the time.
Wayne Smith was at the reunion too. He was a good first grade centre with Wests for a number of years and finished up his career at Cronulla. He said he can't go to Cronulla reunions because his heart is so much at Wests that he would feel he was betraying Wests if he went.
My point in this ramble is to compare the attitude of these champion blokes with the likes of Woods. There is no comparison. Woods is an opportunist of the worst kind and in the interview today showed himself to be a liar as well. We will be well rid of him.

Who is advising this Woods idiot? Is he serious? Does he honestly feel that he was entitled to some sort of special consideration?

The obvious fact (to all of us bar Aaron and his manager) is that the club put forward an offer that they thought represented his true worth as a player in a new direction for the club.

For God's sake man….Aaron...you're a cumbersome plodder who gives away a million penalties and is driven backwards by the genuine big hitters in the game. You are as brave and courageous as all get out but you are just not that freakin' good!! Despite what the "whispering" types will tell you.

Maybe the club wanted you to go! And, why in hell wouldn't they?

Go, man. Good on you for finding a club that was willing to put in the extra bucks to get you there.

Your interview with Hooper was an embarrassment to YOU and only served to convince us that you are shockingly managed and advised and operate from a sense of entitlement that none of us understand.

Good riddance, mate.

But I can tell you those Doggies fans are more vocal and more demanding than anything we can dish up here, I HOPE you're good enough to please them. But, you know what....? I don't think you are!

He'll get lynched at the Dogs…can't wait !
