ACTIONS DO THE TALKING FOR CHRIS HEIGHINGTON
By Wayne Cousins

Chris Heighington delivered his messages to the media this morning the same way he plays – hard and straight forward.
Heighington knows only too well he or his team-mates can’t afford to get caught up in the hype surrounding the side’s five game winning run.
Sitting in seventh place on the ladder, Wests Tigers are widely tipped to beat lowly placed Parramatta, Gold Coast and Cronulla over the next 3 weeks before the Telstra Premiership finals begin.
Heighington, the second most capped Wests Tigers player, was having none of that when fronting the media at Camp Concord this morning.
“We know how hard it is to win an NRL game. Parramatta will be very hard and they gave us a touch up a few weeks ago so we are going to have to be on our game again.
“The Eels will be very dangerous. They have an awesome forward pack and have Jarryd Hayne. They have been unlucky a fair few times this year so we are going to have to be on our game on Sunday,’’ Heighington said bluntly.
Asked of the importance of finishing fourth and securing a home final, Heighington said it was a matter of ‘one week at a time’.
“It is definitely an advantage to get the home final but if we don’t, we will just go and play where ever we have to go and do the best job we can,’’ Heighington said.
“Going into the finals in fourth position would be really good but we have to keep on winning. When the finals come around, we will see where we are at.
“Winning brings a lot of confidence to a team. We are fairly confident we can keep going well in the next 3 games into the finals.”
And with that, Heighington walked off to continue his preparation for the match against the Eels at the Sydney Football Stadium this Sunday.
It was the perfect case of letting his actions do the talking this week.
