Mbye hasn't been anywhere near as bad a signing as others. Reynolds, McQueen & Ballin were and are heaps worse. It's not even close.

I think Blair and Mbye are though pretty comparable. Average players who make it onto the park but were signed as star players.

They're all terrible signings but at least Mbye has played SOME good games. McQueen, Reynolds and Ballin were just a complete waste of money. Packer too.

I would add Matulino, with his amazing running records, 30m per game, only beaten by even more useless Packer!

You did not obviously watch Matulino play for us then.

Agree Russ, we were a far better team with him in it, as usual with our luck, the wrong Cleary signing got medically retired.

I think the tigers must play a long game.2 marque players and the ditching of slack and stale performers.Next year buy promising young players on cheap short contracts and in 2022 have a enough in the cap to buy quality players as needed.I am sure the club will go this way,and realise that our present roster is not fixable in the short term. Need big tough forward leader,fullback,6 or 7,.The top sides backs are all big, fast, and aggresive we have none of these.

players get injured, coaches and recruiters make mistakes so you can understand most of it but Ballin was purely a tactical signing to show Farah who's the boss. A pathetic, egomaniac signing and I feel sorry for Ballin to get dragged into this mess.

Every team needs an Adam Blair, the issue was they get 200K and not 650

Mbye is our only Origin rep, and one of only about half a dozen players to ever play Origin while playing for us. If our only current Origin rep is our worst ever signing, then that is an indictment on the club.

agree forgot about Ballin
lol
signed by an egomaniac
Ballin and McQueen both taylor signings
Anasta was a Sheens signing
it makes Cleary signings seem ok lol

Ballin was on minimum contract. Any player on minimum contract is not even in the picture when it comes to worst ever signings. As for McQueen, he was signed by Cleary.

Adam Blair was not only a poor signing dollar wise he costs us the players that were moved on.
I feel sorry for Mbye as he tries just not worth the price he is being paid.
Weak clubs always pay overs for players whilst East get them at bargain prices with Nick's mates
Looking after them. The Morris brothers will probably end up with nice teeth.

I think what really killed it for Blair was that he was meant to be the missing piece to our gf push playing next to Ellis. Ellis got that foot injury, hardly played and then left for the UK. If those two fired then our forwards were elite. It didn't happen and the rest is history. Blair stayed and while not being as elite as he was at storm, he still (statistically speaking) was one of our hardest working forwards. I think his price plus what everyone had envisaged our pack to be made him an easy target.

Waiting for the flaming arrows......

Not all at all. Even if he did sign him, Cleary had the choice to back out as he was in charge for 2 weeks before he was announced. And the only reason McQueen turned out as bad as he did is because he broke his neck, after he was signed. It killed him and set him back for 2018, and he never recovered.

Stop back tracking ?
Scarecrow signed McQueen... the end !

We will never get to see the answer ....but I maintain if Ellis and Dwyer stay healthy ..Blairs strengths become more important

Problem is people expected Taumalolo numbers and he never produced that ...look at the Storm whne he was there ...

I maintain if those two stay healthy, our club is thought of in a much, much different light today.

Just read the weirdest article in the Australian by Mbye, he is either delusional or seriously taking the piss. Says things like Madge should clean out underperforming players on big money, big money players deserve to be underpressure if their not performing, big money players need to influence the game to earn their worth. It was truly bizarre.
