I was all cool with Blair until today, i was on the NRL Versus thing where you vote and here is Blairs stats:

Breaks Tackle:13
Offloads:11
**Missed Tackles: 67**
**Penalties:14**
Tries:2

Now let us look at Fui Fui Moi Moi's

Breaks Tackle:33
Offloads:6
**Missed Tackles:22
Penalties: 7**
Tries:1

Huge difference, he needs to be sent to NSW cup no matter how much he is on, release him!!!

You have to be mindful that Blair plays a lot more minutes than Moi Moi

The most important stat there is 'offloads'. I don't understand why someone (e.g. whoever is playing fullback) doesn't tail him and pick up on his offloads. There is almost always a moment at least when he is being tackled when he could offload to someone tailing him. Utai, Ryan? He just dies of loneliness at the moment.

that's why Moltzen and Beau aren't fullbacks. Im the odd one out here but I think we miss having a true fullback more than a halfback

Believe me, I'm no Blair fan, but here's another stat:

Matches played - 18 each
Blair total Tackles: 540
Moi Moi total Tackles: 308

Moi Moi is an impact player who plays 30 to 40 minutes less than Blair per match. He comes on and makes some great charges then goes back off after 15 or 20 mins.

Mate I'm not trying to defend Blair but you are trying to compare watermelons with rattlesnakes

2 completely different footballers in every aspect

I think that this is about all the minutes Blair can play as well though. He looks okay playing prop for 30-40 minutes but then he just stuffs up all over the place - hence his crappy stats.

He won't make the same impact as Fui Fui if he plays less minutes but at least it will be the most amount of quality footy we can get out of him.

The OP is right though - he is a dud buy.

Big minutes can often reduce a player's effectiveness. A few examples;

1\. C W Heighinhton- lost impact when he started playing the full 80\. It became quantity over quality.

2\. Nathan Hindmarsh- as above

3\. Aaron Woods - Since mid season he is playing too long and quality has been slightly effected. (though he has been great this year)

4\. Keithy- as with Woods.

5\. Adam Blair- as with Woods.

Lack of depth are the reasons for points 3&4&5.

What I wouldn't give to see a tiger bench player come on at the 20 minute mark and charge onto the ball like a maniac (ala Fui Fui)

So sick of Tigers twinkle toeing, pirouetteing and backing into the defensive line. (Blair and Heighno)

Pettybourne should help with that. He runs it up very hard. With the exception of big Ben, our bench of cashmere, bell and moors has no penetration and struggles to make any metres even when fresh. I'd go as far as saying the bench we have had in 2012 has been the least threatening of any bench in the comp. i think bell has been good value for us, but he's a tackling machine, not a dangerous running forward.

finally someone else says it! We've been playing with 14 players the whole year (14.5 if you count bell who's been hard done by all year). We have a horrible bench and I'm keen for next year when pettybourne and some of the juniors come through

Irrelevant stat comparison.
Blair does need to lift his performances but then again so do about another 13 of them .
