Adam Blair

Blair shortchanging Tigers by $450,000 a year. For whatever reason he is now hopeless. Team is playing hopeless. Position on the table is hopeless.. Fans are feeling hopeless. Coach Sheens must go. He has nothing to offer as a tactician or mentor. All the quality teams have worked out a game plan to breakdown the Tigers. He has "lost the dressingroom". Our misery will not end til he departs.

You'd think we'd run bottom 3 for the last 5 years.

We did run top 4 in consecutive years and may well make the semies this year.

People love hyperbole, we are far from a basket case and have had a disapointing year, no doubt, but the over reaction on here is ridiculous.

Half the teams dont make the semies any given year and with salary caps and alike it does not take much to lose, the difference between the top sides is not much.

Tigers lost me when they let now wooden spooners Parra score 5 tries in the last 13 minutes. Is this a record?
Maybe pathetic & brainless are better words than hopeless. I still haven't recovered from the capitulation to Warriors in sudden death final last year.
Tigers are on the slide & going backwards. 2005 GF team would wipe current rabble by 30 points.

Over reaction…....I think the comments here are fully justified...The team this year has failed to live up to their expectaions...apart from the bulldogs game the players failed to show up in all of their games....They jagged a string of lucky wins along the year and that's the season

Adam Blair has been the worst signing in the clubs history and if not for the impending increase in the salary cap, may have crippled this club for years to come. You only need to look at Parra signing guys like Justin Poore and Sandow for huge money to see what effect these signings can have on a club.

When Bryce Gibbs went off the field injured in the semi-final against the warriors last year I was immediately worried. I knew our defence would really struggle without him.

Similarly, without him this year our defence has been rubbish. we've replaced one of the best defenders in the game with one of the worst.

Worse still, if we'd saved the cash from the Blair buy, retained Gibbs (on much less than Blair is getting) and not bought rubbish like anasta and pettybourne we could have thrown huge money at players that might have actually filled the holes that need filling at this club, like Cronk, JT or SBW.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I for one never thought buying Blair would go this badly. But allowing Gibbs to go, when defence has always been our achilles heel, was disastrous for this club and a decision that Sheens and the recruitment team should fall on their sword for.

I'm a sheens supporter, but Bell has outplayed him all year in both defence and attack and should have been promoted to the starting line up months ago and been given significantly more minutes than Blair, based on form. But Sheens was too obstinate to admit his error and we've all seen the results.

Did anyone notice that in the run of wins earlier in the year Bell was playing 50+ mins a game, making 40 tackles and missing almost none (and not giving away any penalties).

some of the things Blair has done this year, like dropping the ball cold on the first tackle on the opposition line, then immediately giving a penalty away, then missing a crucial tackle for the opposition to score, have been amongst the worst things ive seen in first grade.

Half the teams weren't premiership favourites before the season. We have had our chances this year and threw them all away. Just look at that Souths game we were up by like 10 points with 10 to go and lost. The Parra game where we conceded 30 points in 15 minutes. Last week where we were supposed to be playing for our season, ended up getting smashed by a team long out of finals contention.

Disappointing doesn't begin to describe this year.

I'm of the belief that Blair is playing the exact same game he was in Melbourne. Its just in a winning team and given the way the storm play as a unit his input had less impact on the teams performance. Where as in our side it seems we depend more on individual performances to put as over the line as opposed to a combined team effort. Statistically I doubt there would be too many differences between 2011 and 2012 for Blair.

Bingo!

I disagree that he has lost the dressing room. I think he loves the players and they love him,and sadly that = no accountability

So why is the team playing like amateurs?
1/ Players not following brilliant game plans?
2/ Game plan is rubbish?
3/ There is no game plan?

I feel that the majority have only ever had Sheens as Coach and there's a common loyalty between them. And I can't fathom that in 10 seasons of Sheens we have never been strong defensively. You can always bet that if a team gets a drop out against us they'll score off the next set. He has never instilled a killer instinct in them, leaking 30 points in 11 mins vs Parra and butchering the Souths game. Everyone's too comfortable at Camp Concord.

If we kept Gibbs, tell me this. Where does he play? not starting thats for sure, as good as hes been this year for the Sharks, Woodsy and Keith are still better than him and seeing as they both play 65ish mins each week that would mean Gibbs would be playing the Bell role of 30 odd mins each week which as we've seen hasn't exactly been the answer to defensive woes.

Getting rid of Fifita and Gibbs was not a bad thing!! Bell is essentially the same player as Gibbs and BMM plays essentially the same role as Fifita. We've had a poor season and people are looking for excuses but this is not it!

Sheens has often liked playing Gibbs in the second row and moving him to prop when Galloway goes off. He would have had plenty of minutes. Also Galloway often misses a few matches throughout the year so game time isn't a problem. It is also contentious whether our props are playing too many minutes. Galloway isn't the type of player that long minutes suit, that's why I think we have seen very few of his charging runs and he continually picks up niggling injuries. Also with Galloway and Ellis spending lots of time on the sidelines he would have been great.

Back on Blair he has had a really average season but no worse than majority of our team. Sure he disappointed but he has next year to show us what he can do and earn his keep. If he still fails to deliver than we should
Admit it's a square peg and round hole, and cut him lose. I still have hope that he can deliver next year.
