OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

He has to come back into the centre role or maybe off the bench. He then may slot into fullback but I think it's too much to ask of him coming straight back.

Longer term to me it's unclear but I see him as a spine player. He may be able to slot into the centres or lock but I don't see him as a lock. If he is playing centre you better get him a lot of ball.

The coaching staff have to figure out his role along with Brooks and Hastings. We are also a crud team atm so maybe you can play some of these guys not in their best position but in the best position for us.

People who want him at 6 straight away don't want what's best for the team lol

Obvious choice is centre or off the bench to start off
I want him at centre as soon as he's fit enough for first grade. Long term we should be looking at signing NRL standard centres and playing AD at 6 and letting Brooks and his $1.1 million a year walk

There is no way we re-sign Brooks on anywhere near a million. There is no way Brooks is on that figure now as well though.

You may be right in that we let Brooks walk and maybe it comes down to money but we will not be paying Brooks more than AD or Hastings long term unless AD and Hastings aren't here.

He has to do this consistently. Doueihi has shown a lot more than Kepaoa has.

I'm not convinced AD just slots into the centres as well. To'a and Kepaoa both look good and Talau may come on. I'm not convinced Gildart is a dud either.
Doueihi is a good player. Many centres are not quick but they do have strong defence and the ability to set up the winger This is where Doueihi needs to make improvements to his game. There is a place for him but I think it will be at 13.

I hope AD also shows something when he eventually gets back on the field. But unfortunately I don't think he will show us any pace.
It will take him 2 or 3 matches to find his legs, no pun intended, and it wouldn't surprise me if he is initially rotated off the bench.

Let's just see how he goes first, it could take him the rest of this year to find his feet again with the idea to come back 2023 fully fit and firing

Couple options ...
Depending fitness
Thoughts ..

-FB or centre for a couple of weeks. Still reckon he ends up in the 6 at some point
-If Hasto & Brooks keep gelling I don't see halves changing (besides injuries)
-AD to 6, Brooks to 9
-Utility

I think he'll be eased back in at #14. Subbing in at 6 at some point in the game, with brooks going to 9. Taking Madden's role, but should be a lot more effective.

That way he and brooks can both show what they can do in #6. Hastings is a lock at 7.

I've said it in another post, but I reckon madge set this structure up early, ready for AD's return.

Yeh, and if you read the topic opening statement Madge says he hasn't thought about it...yeh right.
I agree it's set up for AD to return nicely.
Also Brooks has already occasionally started to play as a 9
