OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

A real man deals with his problems properly and respects the team, the fans, and his mates. Saying sorry after you abandon them doesn't fix a thing. Words are cheap when the damage is already done. He walked, we suffered, and an apology doesn't earn respect back.
A wise man once said to me, when we were baling hay; You dont need to apologise unless you draw blood, then just run.
I took that as, take care and dont stuff up in the first place.

Respect, in that you are sticking by your original assessment of AD and his actions. Nothing has changed really.

However, in light of what seemed a heart felt apology, I wonder how many others on here will still show total contempt for the man, like they have been for the past week.

And imagine if he starts playing like he was before?

I expect that he will be playing like he was before in the halves, which is vastly for himself at the expense of the team around him, and to see nothing has really changed.

I was singing his praises with his new-found efforts during the trials last year, which he carried through 2025, but have always been against him being a regular half.

Adam allowed the noise around this and for it to linger, so I cannot forgive that.

"I want to protect my agent, Isaac Moses"

Pretty sure his little stunt backfired. Moses didnt have a new gig lined up like he thought he did. No club would now want to touch a walk out on your team player. Dude saw the writing on the wall and came crawling back to his day job. Apparently now he says he will play front row if Benji asks him too. So disappointed how weak the club is. On ya bike champ. I aint never gonna barrack for this clown while wearing a Tigers Jersey. Big hill to climb to earn any sort of respect back.

Glad that I wasn't drinking anything when I heard him say that in the presser, else it it would have been on the floor and/or bubbling out of my nose.

They supposedly attended the Monday meeting together despite specifically being asked not to.

No … that’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever read and clearly you’re very young .
Real men ? The realest men I’ve ever met , loyal , hard working , all about the team , have nearly to a man done some crazy shit and almost torpedoed thier life .
No … every man worth thier salt is gonna make a mistake they regret . Most many many mistakes . A real man … if there is such a thing , owns those mistakes and uses them to be a better human .
You’re in for a punch to the guts when this truth hits home to you mate . Because it will mean you’ve stuffed up royally and need some forgiveness .
And if not … well then you’d be the first person in history to never make a mistake .

If people didn’t push boundaries you literally wouldn’t be here . Unless you’re 1000th generation pure born indigenous.
I find this holier than thou judgmental rhetoric to be so self serving .
A wise old man once told me me “ better to ask for forgiveness than permission” . I took that as take risks if you think they’re worth it . Do what you think is right no matter the cost . And if there is a cost , then own it .
It’s interesting the lessons people learn .

lol mate im in my 40s. We are obviously very different, because you never betray your family and mates. That is a line you never cross. Thats what he did. I'm not going to argue with you over this, we obviously hold very different views. You can forgive him thats your choice, but for me I wont be supporting him.

So you’ve never betrayed your family ? You’ve never accidentally missed a party of your kids , forgotten someone’s birthday , had a work event conflict with your child’s sporting event , you’ve never accidentally let a secret slip ? You’ve never been soo angry because what you thought was right that you yelled at someone you love or had an argument , because you were sure you were so right , like accused an ex of cheating , maybe your wife , or actually they accused you , or you or they actually cheated ?
I find that so hard to believe it’s not funny .
Have you ever yelled at your kid and then realised they didn’t do what you thought they did ?
You know all those things are betrayals right ? It’s not your fault , you’re just learning , and growing ….. but then that would be my point wouldn’t it …

There’s either 3 things going on here . You’re trolling .. you’re a complete narcissist devoid of self reflection , or lacking emotional intelligence . I think the latter mate . My point is we all fark up . Some of us are lucky enough to fark up a little , others only learn from mistakes … so make a lot.
For those people I chose to give them grace. Only … and that’s the key word … if they own it and show remorse .

I think you're reading more into it than necessary. I abbreviated it so it didnt go on. It was a simple message to take more care or people will get hurt. But you're entitled to your interpretation.

All I know is if we rage quit and walk out of our job, a lot of us aren't able to walk back in, apologise and start working again. Things are obviously not well at the moment for him to do that but also for the club to let this happen with very little consequence.
That's not really a genuine comparison. If you had a disagreement with your boss and asked for a day off to get your head straight, which is more accurate to what happened, 100% you would be allowed to do this and return.

Workplace protections apply to League as much as any job and there is a strong Union to deal with.

Of course you exaggerate a little but I was thinking along the same lines today.

Benji made a point that he is human, so is AD, they have feelings and are allowed to blow up then work it out.

For me really the issue isn't about coach or player decisions this past week - it is up to Benji alone how he deals with his troops.

The issue for me this week is how so much information became public and who is the POS leaking information to the media. 100% blow ups like this have occurred before in footy and clubs have kept it in-house. All this should have been kept in-house, esp if AD was venting reasonable frustrations and Benji accepted it.

Yea man … I’m not emotional about this at all . It’s written text so it’s hard to convey tone . You’re right I’m using extremism to make a point .
I just think man all the screw ups in my life , if people don’t get to make up for thier mistakes … well I’m screwed lol .
But like just because I say this … it doesn’t give what he did a pass. Far from it . He’s gotta earn that . And if it’s all crocodile tears and bullshit well then , yea there’s the door . But give him a chance to make up for it . Work hard , get some wins on the board and if there is a leadership vacuum , do what’s necessary to fix it .
Your last point. Same ! My very first post I said the same thing . AD needs to sort out who it is that’s leaking around him . And if it’s him …. Jesus Christ bro … back to my original point . You need to see a therapist . Because going scorched earth because a perceived slight is not normal at all . Getting angry . Sure . But burning it all down … I mean the hot blooded Lebo stuff is a cop out . Sort your shit out .

I can honestly say I’ve never betrayed my family. I make every birthday, sporting event, school event because there is nothing I care about more.

Same with yelling at my wife. I’m an adult, I can talk to her with respect and her to me even if disagreeing. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t give you the right to lash out. Just like I’m choosing to not insult or belittle you, yet you keep taking swipes at me. You treat people with respect.

Yeah you can [This word has been automatically removed] up. That’s fine, but there are consequences. You can’t say I’m sorry and expect it all to be fine. You need to earn that trust back through time, effort and demonstrating you change. I’ll believe it when I see it.

I am hoping to find a silver lining in this in that last week was where we hit rock bottom. In some ways this was worse than the HBG and Galvin debacle as it was the coach with a committed leader who has been arguably our best player this year.

But what interested me was the response.

They manned up and took their shots from the media and both the club and themselves are looking a lot better than they did yesterday. Yes there will still be questions however I at least feel we are in the right headspace to have a solid performance against Parramatta.

I think he genuinely is remorseful for his actions. I also think he does have a close affection for the club. It doesn’t excuse his actions but I suspect he genuinely acknowledges he was in the wrong. I was very angry at what he did and the flow on impact of his selfishness. Can I get over it? Maybe. A winning effort on Sunday would go some ways to healing things…

Excellent, primed for a good performance literally the week after our season officially ended ....

I straight up don’t believe you . Not even a little bit . But that’s irrelevant . Everything you’re saying is exactly what I was saying though .
But only through contrition and an apology - because that means you accept you made a mistake . It literally the first part . Why would you need to make up for a mistake you never made ?
You’re literally talking in circles to win some arbitrary argument against a random .
Cool you hate AD . He’s a ... Thats it . Whatever bro ! Good luck to you!

I still suspect Moses, but given the Tigers history, it could be people in the club itself. Would not shock me if it's some dimwit from within HBG.

But I still go back to what Pascoe said to me years ago - if it's negative club press, 99% chance its from the manager and you have to think about who benefits from the intrigue.

It is fair to note that for AD's most recent contract there wasn't the typical Moses bullshit, so the manager can take instructions from the player.
