Adam Doueihi #227

If he’s Keen on lock then train him there all summer and use him as a 14 when the sting goes out of the game. He could be a huge game breaker
IF...

IF being the key word here (BTW Robert De Niro is awesome. )

I don't see how AD ever really fitted our team. He is a kind of attacking back who doesn't want to be center and isn't a wing and can't tackle.
Now he is injured and likely to be slow.

Sure the guy has heart. The guy is busted.
Sullivan, in spite of us trying to punt him in year 1 of the 4 year contract still has heart and, yes had a shocking start but at least has some kind of form. Why not train Sullivan at Lock?
or Center?
Or whereever you want to fit him??

OR

Be ruthless and Punt Sullivan because we just don't need this many reserve grade depth halves!

I just don't get how any kind of question of keeping Doueihi happens. Sullivan has a contract, Sezer has something to offer the team, while Large\Galvin\Fainu want to play in the halves.

It's like taking a 7th spare tyre when your trying to save on fuel economy.

Maybe because Sullivan has turned out as a dud?

I like it, he can cover anywhere in the backline if needed but would make a great centre as of right now. Has size, great passing game and strong running game. He adds another dimension to our attack - which is limited and pedestrian, with Olam the only real threat in our outside backs.
Can kick a good spiral bomb too.
The issue is we've invested heavily in players like Naden, Staines, Toa etc but I'd rather take Adam over both Naden and Toa, no offence. He's also on minimum wage.

Seriously check out how big he is in comparison to Blocker even. If he could tackle he'd make a great lock IMO. But I'm content he'd be another big body in a team that is very undersized and that he brings some craftiness (though sometimes a hog), as our only spark in attack usually comes from Bula.
There is a lot of lateral stress on the knees playing center and it's the most difficult position to defend in.
Probably the last place I'd be putting him

Definitely sounds like he's happy to play anywhere. It also sounds like it's not big coin.

I don't see the negatives behind a 1 year contract for low money on a player with his experience. The number of roster spots is a concern but hopefully we can get Sullivan, Naden and maybe a junior or 2 like Sukkar off the books for next year.
